Yuh know someting always happenin in Trini ...... this month is Jazz ...... and Cricket ...... West Indies vs Sri Lanka ...... so since Sunday ....... ah was supposed tuh post ah lil sumtin sumtin bout de cricket ...... cuz ah end up in cricket Sunday ....... by chance (aka 'freeness') ........ ah reach bout 2:30 pm ....... and by about 4:45 pm ..... it was all over ..... but mind you ...... dat was enough time ...... tuh get sufficiently inebriated ..... hence no post on Sunday or Monday (or Tuesday or Wednesday!) ...... dat was de bess $350 ah didn't spend ...... WE WIN de match ..... but we draw de series!

Now I doh know nuttin bout cricket ..... but I do know about liming ....... the cricket bug first bit me a few years ago ....... thanks to a Jamaican friend of mine ...... imagine dat eh! ...... it take ah Jamaican ....... tuh chain me up wit cricket! ........ anyway ...... ever since that first taste ....... there was no turning back ....... cuz I soon realised ...... dat yuh eh have tuh know shit bout cricket ..... tuh enjoy cricket ...... so of course wit dat said .....de Stands of choice ....... tuh view de game on Sunday (and all previous times) ....... was de Trini Posse Stands ...... hear nah ....... Trinidad eh playin it sweet nah (and sour at de same time!) ...... wit all de crap goin orn these days ...... Trinis ....... Grenadians ....... Bajans ..... Jamaicans ....... Guyanese ....... and whoever else ah eh call ..... all took time out (and alotta money) ....... tuh support our Team ....... de inconsistent West Indies Team ....... ah must say ...... de win was a proud moment ...... up tuh now ...... ah doh know what de score was ...... ah doh know who was battin when we win ....... ah doh even know who does play fuh West Indies anymore ...... since Lara ride out ...... I clueless ....... but lawd ..... cricket was sweet ........ I had a ball ....... talk about drinks ....... and food ....... and some fuh eyes too ........ thank god Iz ah West Indian!!! .......

Anyway ...... again ....... minding my own business ....... wit no plans tuh go cricket today ....... ah get ah call yesterday ...... tuh say dat 'we inside' ...... well HELLO ...... fren end up in de Trini Posse Stands AGAIN ..... and is only after today's session ...... ah say nah ...... ah hadda say sumtin bout dis cricket!!!

Just when I thought Sunday was da bomb ....... today was simply nerve-wracking ...... in a good way tho ........ ah cyah even find words to describe how bomb today was ....... again ....... drinks flowin ...... food cuttin ...... eye food nourishing ....... it was jus pure vibes ..... local celebs flammin ...... carib gyuls gyratin ...... riddem section pulsin ...... and yet again ....... ah didn't know who was battin ...... an' ah didn't know de score ...... ah just know dat we had tuh make 200 and sumtin ....... so when ah see we reach 225 ...... ah start tuh pay attention ...... and is only den I realise dat is Chanders and Edwards battin ...... de las two men (9 men had done out!!) ...... and dat we down tuh 2 balls ....... wit 10 runs tuh make!!! ...... well ah start tuh tick ...... nerves take over ...... and all ah tinkin is ....... lawd ....... why de West Indies does do us dis ....... why dey always have tuh give us a near heart attack ....... when SLAM!!! ....... Chanders hit de first ball fuh 4 ......... den in ah matter of minutes ....... SLAM again ..... he hit de second (and last) ball ...... fuh 6 ....... well dat was it ..... WE WIN!!! ......... pure euphoria ...... da was de sweetest 10 runs I ever witness in cricket ....... talk about bacchanal ........ de crowd start tuh swarm de field ....... de DJ immediately pump up de volume ....... everybody in de Trini Posse Stand ....... just fly off dey seats into the air ....... drinks start tuh rain ...... people was huggin up ...... and high-fivin ..... and winin on random people ...... it was Carnival ...... Trini Posse style ..... this lasted fuh about ah good 30 minutes .... until de lime move tuh de road ...... didn't stay fuh dat tho ....... but I understand it end up on Ariapita Avenue ...... need I say more?!

I may not know about cricket ..... but I do know about the positive vibes ..... it brings out in us trinis ..... so until Saturday ...... when we play the second 'one day' ....... Rah-lay-ayayay ... Rally round de West Indies ....... now and forever!!!
