Crackdown on Crime!!!
In today's Express ...... there was a story titled ..... 'Crackdown in POS' ...... so naturally ...... because of the obvious connotation ...... it caught my attention ...... I was so happy tuh see ...... that the police were finally ..... takin ah bite out of crime ..... and really yammin down on it ....... wit ah 'crackdown' ...... but ..... after gettin tuh de meat of de matter ...... it soon became evident ....... that their so called 'crackdown' ........ was simply a diversionary tactic ...... tuh appease ....... tuh make us feel like dey doin someting ..... tuh make us feel like dey 'fightin crime' ...... tuh make us forget bout odda shit ...... like UDECOTT and CAPE and MURDERS and KIDNAPPINGS and RAPE!!!
Yesterday ....... our (To Protect and Serve WITH PRIDE) Police ...... took time ....... and very scarce resources (over 50 officers) ...... tuh 'crackdown' on some illegal activity in de city ....... things that were no real threat ....... but are nevertheless ...... illegal ....... offences like ...... illegal tints on cars ..... dey make people pull aside and take dem off ...... some people geh hole fuh illegal number plates ....... and illegal parking ...... some fuh illegal vending ...... they seized ...... and even destroyed some of the vendors' carts ....... wit goods still on dem ...... arrests ...... they arrested a 'pineapple chow' vendor ...... fuh sellin he chow without a licence ..... he was placed on $1000 own bail ....... I doh even know what dat mean ...... but if it mean he hadda pay dat ....... den how much chow he go hadda sell!?? ..... and where??
Now crime is a very broad topic ...... it have all kinda unlawful activity ...... dat could fall under dat heading ....... and obviously kidnapping and murder ..... eh go be in de same category ....... as driving without ah license ..... or vending without a licence ...... but they're all ....... against de law ....... and I certainly don't condone lawlessness ...... in any form or fashion ....... breakin de law ....... is breakin de law ....... an' ah know dat recently ..... somebody (in authority) ..... ah cyah remember who ...... had say dat ...... in order tuh deal wit de crime situation effectively ..... we have tuh ...... start wit de small tings first ..... but oh gorm ....... it have so much big tings tuh deal wit ...... so much more serious criminals fuh de police tuh bully ........ why it is dey pickin on de small man ...... who instead of stealing ....... jus tryin tuh make ah honest livin (albeit while breakin de law - is this an oxymoron?!)
Now as ah say ....... ah not condonin lawlessness .... but oh shit ....... if yuh mus 'crackdown' on de vendors ........ do it wit less police nah ....... and send some tuh run down de real criminals ..... de scary ass violent ones!!!!!!
I am so fed up wit de crime situation ...... rite now ....... it gettin ah lil too close tuh home! ..... about 15 feet tuh be exact! ....... yep ...... my neighbour's apartment was broken into last nite (coulda been mine!!!) ...... two ole people livin dey ...... ah burglar ....... who clearly scope out ....... dat dey does leave dey louvres open ...... wit no burglar proofin ...... climb up on de 'burglar proofin' of de apartment below (de irony!) ...... was able tuh reach de open louvres tuh pull out a couple of dem ..... and boldface boldface enter de apartment right dey ....... he tief de ole lady handbag ..... a necklace ........ and 4 cell phones (yuh see wha Digicel and TSTT cause) ....... 4 cell phones!! ....... and he so dotish ..... when he buss it ...... like he realise ..... de handbag eh matchin he bandit outfit ...... so he clear out de TT cash ....... and he trow de handbag in de bush nearby ....... now de reason ah specifically stated ...... TT cash ..... is cuz it had EURO cash in de bag too ...... buh like he eh know what EURO is ....... so he leave it ...... thank god he eh do de people nuttin ..... oh ....... and up tuh about 1:00 pm today ...... de police cyah reach yet!!!
About 2 weeks ago too ....... another apartment by me ...... was broken into ..... now I living here donkey years ........ and break-ins was never something we had tuh deal wit ...... all of ah sudden in de year 2008 ..... people breakin-in tuh our apartments ...... and get dis ...... WE HAVE SECURITY!!! ...... but who guardin de guards?!
On May 2 ..... a friend of mine was kidnapped (Philippa) ...... now we eh no close, warm, personal friends ...... but she eh de ...... "fake facebook filler friend" kind either ....... ah know de gyul ...... ah lime and party with de gyul ...... a few times!
On de news tonight ...... the missing 8 year old girl ..... was found ....... DEAD ...... in a canefield in Felicity ...... a male relative led the police to her ...... she was supposedly molested and then killed!!!!! ...... by said male relative ........ 8 years old!!!!!!! ....... but yuh get dis one? ....... is not de police who find de chile yuh know ....... is de killer who lead dem tuh de chile ....... da'is where we is ..... police so clueless ...... dat some of de criminals givin dem ah bligh ...... and helpin dem out!
WHAT DE POLICE DOIN??????? ....... yuh know what de Assistant Commissioner of Police say ...... bout yesterday's 'Crackdown in POS' ...... he say de vendors had to be removed ....... to allow for the free flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic ...... and that the vendors' carts were a health hazard to commuters.
HELLO!!! ....... so wha bout removin de ..... MURDERERS AND BANDITS (along wit de vendors) ........ to allow for the free flow of LIVING ...... MURDERERS AND BANDITS are ah health hazard too???????

Girl, dey waitin for the Commissioner to turn on the Bat call and Batman to come and save Trini. What else could it be? Certainly not a lack of money, or maybe if it don't strike dem, it don't count. Then why the PM son need a gun if Trinidad so safe?

Coffeewallah .... I doh know nah ...... I complain ....... but I really don't know what the solution to our crime problem is .... its so much deeper than police conducting ah 'crackdown' here and there!!
And how do you deal with the perpetrators of such heinous crimes as ....... sodomising, raping and stabbing an 8 year child ....... in her anus ...... and other parts of her body ...... and leaving her semi-nude, lifeless body ..... in ah canefield!! ...... exposed to the elements ..... and creatures ...... as though she was just a piece of garbage!!!!????
Then there's the .... installation of cameras all over POS and Sando .... anudda ting dat irkin meh ..... does this strategy really work ..... or is it just another crock ..... and why only two cities ..... wha bout de country as ah whole ..... crime everywhere ..... not only in POS and Sando ...... wha bout Central ..... de place wit all dem same canefield ....... where nuff crap does happen ..... and where nuff crap is hidden ...... cameras is ah waste of time (and money) ..... in my dotish opinion ..... and bandits are not de most photogenic bunch either ..... wit their ski masks on and all ....... so who's tuh say dey go be identifiable if de camera ketch dem anyway!
I'm rambling ...... and feelin like ah doing ah whole new post ...... so in conclusion ...... I really think that ..... we .... as ah people .... seriously need tuh put our collective heads together .... tuh come up wit some real big ideas ....... FAST ...... tuh fix dis place ...... once and for all!!!!!!
Oh ..... and about de PM son ....... he know what time it is! ..... I fully endorse de gun ....... he realise ...... dat de same idiot who does be posin as ....... DE FATHER OF DE NATION ...... is he Fadda too ...... so just by virtue of being he son ..... all forms of protection are neccessary ......
