Bread BS now ...
Oh gosh ....... ah on ah roll ...... TOYOTA had meh so vex ..... dat ah clean forget dis nex piece ah crap dat happen today!
Remember when de price of flour ..... was about to increase ...... and all of ah sudden ...... flour get scarce ...... cuz all dem grocery and dem was hoardin it ....... til de price go up??!!! ....... well ....... a stranger scenario ..... goin orn wit bread!
Some time last week ...... de price of bread ...... went up ...... fuh like de fifth time ...... fuh de year!!!
Now I eh no big bread eater ...... ah bread ..... does last me bout two weeks ...... so dis morning ....... ah wuz feelin fuh some scramble egg ...... and all ah have in meh house tuh eat .... wit it ...... is Crix ....... but ah wuz feelin tuh eat it ...... wit bread ..... so head out tuh buy ah bread!
So ah reach de place ....... pick up meh whole wheat loaf ..... an' ah head fuh de Cashier ...... now on de bag ..... have $9.75 printed ..... so I pull out ah $10 bill ...... gettin ready tuh pay ...... only tuh notice ..... dat when de Cashier scan de bread ...... $11.50 come up ....... and not de $9.75 ....... so I tell her ...... dat de price printed on de bag is $9.75 ...... she then 'very gruffly' replied ...... "DAT IS DE OLD PRICE, YUH WANT DE BREAD??!!!" ....... such insolence I thought!!! ...... but ah really wanted de bread ...... so ah pull out another $2.00 ....... and ah pay fuh meh ole bread!
Now dis is what I need tuh find out ....... is it dat dey usin already printed old plastic bags ....... tuh put de new $11.50 bread in ....... or is it that those particular sandwich loaves were produced at $9.75 ....... but are now being sold for $11.50 ...... and again ....... de boldfacity of de Cashier ....... tuh be confirmin ...... dat it IS ..... OLD BREAD ah paying for????
JAH ..... wuz de real scene in dis country bwoy??!!! ....... 2 years ago bread was $4.50!!!! ...... and why ah have tuh pay $11.50 fuh ah bread from de $9.75 batch!!??

Actually, what happens is that they print bags by 100s of 1000's so when the price changes they continue to use the pre-printed bags for a time. What also usually happens is that they adhere stickers with the new price but I guess the price has been changing so frequently that doing that will not be cost effective. It will minimise the amount they benefit from robbing us. Stop eating bread I say........$11.50 for a loaf of brown bread is ridiculous....especially when I was advised that they do not bring Whole Wheat into T&T to make bread, they use Bran and I feel brown colouring because I don't find any grain in the bread. Think about it ....They robbing us blind.......RIDICULOUS....BANDITS....DOH START MEH NAH

its always good ..... when I put my cluelessness out there ..... and learn someting ...... so they're using old pre-printed bags ....... fuh de new $11.50 bread ...... OK ...... good tuh know ...... but dah whole wheat scene ...... is ah tiefhead ...... sounds like ah real scam ...... I always buy de whole wheat tinkin it better fuh yuh ....... I feel I go really have tuh lock off bread fuh tru yes! ...... at $11.50 ah bag ...... Crix is de new bread!

Can't call any names but I was told this years ago by someone who used to work then at NFM........other than that... Have you seen or felt any kinda grain in de "whole wheat" bread?....I swear is only molasses or some other kinda colouring......wuzdescene, you know where I am right now in the U.S.A and altho they full ah dey own BS (ah doh mean Bad Service this rounds)when yuh go to buy bread is a real study and in de whole wheat yuh could feel some kinda grain / fiber......Ah tell yuh we being robbed blind.....Buy ah Linda's whole wheat an yuh will see de difference........don't know de cost of a loaf now buh ah feel at least yuh will be gettin yuh money's worth.....

to add my two dollars, since ten cents can't buy you anything these days, trinisamba is correct when speaking of mass produced bread. That's why KISS puts WHEAT on the bag, they actually use bran and molasses to colour the loaf. It's mostly white flour and yes, got it from the KISS people themselves. If you want real "whole wheat" you either have to bake it yourself or go to a baker that uses imported whole wheat flour, Adam's does a real wheat loaf and Chee Mooke's German bread used to be but these days I'm not so sure that passes for whole wheat is not mutton dressed as lamb! Let the buyer beware. Of course if you eating the whole wheat to get some fibre then you could do the same with some bhagi, porridge, most veg Oh yes, you ever notice that you could leave the mass produced bread out for days, weeks even and it does not go bad, think PRESERVATIVES. If you can't pronounce it why would you want to eat it?

I always refer to it as "brown bread" because that is all that it is......so much for consumer rights...DEM BLOODY BANDITS....all the more reason we need to stop buying BROWN bread....AH TELL ALLYUH DOH START MEH.............

Yeah it have no wheat in dat bread. And what is worse is they baking whole wheat bread home by me, with wheat and I still eating Kiss brong bread.
But on another note, I think you and I are the same person. Because I went in the shop, and barely pick up a $20 out my purse because it was a $9.50 bread I went for. But I figure I mighta see a biscuit I want, and that heifer tell me 'eff you' and I say what? Then I realize she really said '$11.50' and I almost went back home and eat the egg alone. But I had want bread that morning, although I doh really eat bread so. We is the same person.
