Oh Gosh, you bring back some real memories there girl. I was too young to go see Saturday Night Fever when it first came out but you couldn't miss the music, it was everywhere. At the risk of sounding my age, you're right, young people today have no concept of music, my little cousins and friend's children always want to get into my "vintage" music because its more entertaining than some of the crap they listen to. Let's face it, Brittany Spears ain't no Madonna no matter how hard she tries and while I like Kanye, Usher and JT, I don't want to listen to them in the car when I'm sitting in traffic.

I agree with you 100% there was a better caliber of music way back when. I often wonder if the music of today would be used in things like ads as often as the music of yesterday was.
George Benson show *smirk* private no less

I could never look at Travolta dance. It's just too weird to see a man, or any human dance like that.
I agree that they don't make good music anymore and I think I even blogged about that in my Rihanna post.
You grew up in a good era, part of my era as well. I also know who George Benson is because I once worked with two jazz fanatics. Now I only work with one. I noticed that new movies use old songs, songs that might not really be old but at least older than I am. Ever seen the movie I Am Sam? It was loaded with music of the Beatles sung by modern (2001) ariste. The movie was good but the music was better. I found out about the Beatles after they broke up but I like their music. Young people might say they don't listen to "old music" but all successful modern musicians were influenced by the older ones. I think the saying is "you can hide from the past but you can't escape it."

his dancing was a little less painful ..... dan de high waist polyester pants he had orn
and yeah ...... a lot of 'new' music ...... is dependent ...... on old music ...... hence all the sampling! ...... which I really don't mind ..... except fuh times ..... when de new sampled remixed version ..... does absolutely no justice ...... tuh de original version .....
