LAWD ...... in true Trini style (i.e. tuh make ah lime outta anyting!) ...... I was in Corner Bar when de mark buss last nite ...... well you would swear is America I livin in ...... dem Trinis get orn like dey vote fuh Obama!!!

Ah have no words ..... tuh describe de feelin ah was feelin ...... and really and truly ...... ah have no words now either ...... cuz what else do you say (the day after) ...... that has not already been said ...... except dat ...... America did not disappoint ...... dey real live up tuh all de hype ..... and they really DID vote for Obama!!!

But tho it was a tremendously momentous occasion ...... it would no doubt have been bittersweet for President Obama (oh gosh dat soundin nice eh!) ...... with the passing of his beloved Grandmother ...... just one day before his victory ..... bitter ..... cuz she didn't live to see HER grandson create history ..... and sweet ..... cuz her grandson CREATED HISTORY! .... but I believe she knew ...... she knew her work was done ...... she knew she could leave him ..... she knew that Barack (oh gorm we on first name basis now!) was gonna be OK!





Ah see in today's Express ...... dey say he won among women, blacks and Hispanics ...... well duh ..... obviously ...... de man HOTTTT ...... I been sayin dat from day one ...... black never looked more beautiful!!! ...... and tho he never played the race card during his campaigning ...... yuh done know ..... it have real people who vote fuh him ...... jus cuz he black ....... and yuh done know ...... dat de whole 'black' ting ...... is someting dat we eh go be able tuh ignore now ...... cuz HELLO ...... everybody want tuh be black now ...... urban dictionaries goin an sell like fried chicken ...... BET goin an blow up like Oprah ...... Insurance companies goin an start tuh offer 'melanin' insurance ...... Michael Jackson goin an revert (and buy de first Policy) ...... cuz ..... BLACK is the new white!!! ...... no longer the colour of fright ..... BLACK is da new shit ..... BLACK is IT!!!

Anyway ...... President Obama's journey ..... has only just begun ...... hopefully he will be able to effect ...... that CHANGE ..... that he so easily and frequently spoke about ..... and hopefully he doh mess up too much ...... cuz yuh know dat go be ah whole odda twist on his 'blackness' ...... so ...... as an honorary American (ain't all Trinis?!) ...... I congratulate President Barack Obama and I wish him much success! ..... and to all my fellow honorary Americans out there (aka Trinis) ..... remember ..... tuh remember this day ...... when our time is here (to vote) ...... remember how much yuh like tuh follow America ...... remember tuh follow dis whole session wholesale ..... remember tuh vote dey ass out ...... ooops ..... ah mean remember tuh make dat CHANGE ...... cuz YES ......
