Rain, Rain go away ...
WOW .... the past two days in Trinbago ..... have been really trying ..... so much to say ..... rivers overflowing .... flooding everywhere .... no transport ..... people cyah get home ..... gridlock in POS (and other parts of TnT) ...... even the Prime Minister had tuh really become an 'ordinary citizen' ..... and get outta PM1 and walk *Smirk* (as seen on CNMG Channel 6) ...... bridges collapsing ..... trees falling ...... landslides ...... where 2 people died (a grandma and a toddler) .... cars slippin off de Lady Young cliff ...... and ..... the Meteorological Office says ...... more rain is expected!!! ..... and mind you ..... dem two days of rain .... wasn't no storm eh ..... cuz storms does come wit high winds ..... dem two days ..... was jus plain rain .... so Heaven help us ..... if ah real storm was tuh really hit!!!
Today ...... I had to collect my car from the fix-it shop ...... and while cruising on the Foreshore ..... at about 11:45 this morning ...... I couldn't help but forget the woes of the past two days (just for two seconds) ..... while observing the beautiful sea of red ..... outside the Hasely Crawford Stadium ..... in preparation for the big football match tonight (TnT vs Cuba) ...... I wasn't able to take pics .... but it was awesome ..... red everything ..... T-shirts ..... caps .... flags .... rags .... anyting yuh could tink of ..... all RED!!!
Then ..... as I made my way on to the Beetham Highway ...... I was suddenly thrust back to reality .... there was no traffic tho ..... but by the time I got to the Kirpalani Roundabout in Barataria .... WOW .... the debris ..... and mud .... and mess ..... and dust ...... and workers tyring to clean it up ..... it was just awful!!!
This is what it looked like the day before (got pic in email) .....
I can't say that I was affected ..... by the chaos that occurred around the country ..... on Monday and Tuesday ...... but I certainly feel for the many Trinis who were!
On Monday ..... after dropping off a friend in town ..... at about 4:45 pm ..... I was making my way back home (tuh Diego) ...... and at 7:00 pm .... I had only reached Royal Castle in St. James ..... so ...... since I had to be back in town for 8:00 pm (tuh collect back fren) ..... I just turned around .... and went straight back ..... tuh chill by a friend in Woodbrook ..... and then headed back to town at 7:55 pm ..... by the time I left town ..... at 8:16 pm ...... the traffic had subsided .... but that traffic on Monday ...... had tuh be ...... de worse traffic I have ever been in ..... EVER!!!
Then yesterday ..... I was supposed to pick up my friend's two sons from school ...... and at 3:30 pm ..... just as I was about to head out .... de Diego Martin river overflow ...... FLOOD ...... so ah call her tuh tell her ...... and she said she'd go for them .... well she didn't reach home til about 10:00 pm ..... she left her office at Movie Towne .... at 4:00 pm .... and at 6:12 pm was still on St. Vincent Street, POS .... her sons were on Oxford Street!!! .... she said that while she was stuck on Tragarete Road ..... there were throngs of people ..... just walking ..... cuz people couldn't get transport ..... she said it looked like Carnival ..... well .... except fuh de winin and jammin!
Ahhhh ..... and like dejavu ..... just as the Weatherman said .... today ..... more of the same ...... more rain ..... more floods ...... more horrendous traffic .....
And as I type ..... a friend tryin tuh chain meh up ..... tuh go football ![]()
I got my car .... it looked wonderful ..... it was like new ..... all clean and shiny and spiffy ...... but by the time I got home ..... it was all brown and muddy ..... so like ah never-see-come-see wit new ting ...... I just had tuh wash off de mud (in de drizzle) ..... only tuh discover ..... dat de panel ...... on said door ...... dat went tuh fix ..... UNSTICKIN!!! ....
JAH ...... so it's back tuh de fix-it shop tomorrow ...... I hope the rain holds up tho ..... cuz ah really doh tink dat sweet TnT could handle any more of dem showers!!!
