I eh know nuttin goin on in sweet TnT ...... right now ..... ignorance is bliss ....... but wait ..... ah lie ...... ah take ah lil peek at today's Newsday ...... an' ah see dat Prisons Officers vex with Martin Joseph (dem now vex?!) ...... okey dokey Prisons Officers ..... jus join de ress ah de country (an' at de back of de very long line too!) ...... den ah see ...... dat 400 Trini chirren (so far) write letters tuh Santa ...... and TT Post actually replyin tuh dem (Grrrrrrr .... no wonder regular mail cyah reach on time!) ..... an' ah see de Commish get ah lil six months extension on he Acting stint (Grrrrr again?!) ..... and oh ..... de icing on today's news cake ...... ah TRINI plannin Obama inauguration!!!! ...... well lawd ..... look whey SALT reach!!!

Sunday (Nov 30) ...... ah went tuh a lil show in 51 Degrees ...... it was put orn by none other ...... than our very own Ricardo Mendoza! ..... now I know allyuh muzbe never hear bout he ...... but leh meh tell yuh ...... it was ah show and ah half!!! ...... an' ah have tuh admit dat ah only went ...... cuz meh real good fren ...... chain meh up .... and ..... cuz ah know Ricardo ...... I met Ricardo back in de day ...... when we both once slaved (oooops ah mean 'worked') ....... at the same financial institution ...... and all dat time ...... I didn't have ah clue dat de boy coulda sing ...... apparently ....... a few years ago ...... he ride out from Trini ...... tuh pursue his passion and hone his skills ...... and HELLO .... brutha real hone he skills over dem years ..... cuz he did not disappoint ...... he sing every genre of music ..... jazz, funk, soca, calypso, reggae, R&B ...... de boy even RAP ...... he sing original songs ...... and covers ...... his rendition of 'Your Song' by Elton even caused me to tear up a bit ...... talk about touching (it was dedicated to a good friend of his who passed away) ...... real talent ..... de show had people like Ziggy Rankin (WOW super powerful voice) ........ Vaughnette Bigford (sweet, sweet, sweet jazzy bits) ...... Germaine Wilson (ditto .... sweet, sweet voice) ...... Ataklan (very entertaining performer!) ...... Eclectick (oh gorm dem boys could dance) ....... and ..... they were all backed up by yet another of our own ...... Elan Parle ..... it was billed as 'the music event of the year' ...... and to me ..... it really was!!! ...... de vibe was lounge-ish ...... ah no smoking event ....... so de air was nice and clear ...... and I end up sittin on de same couch wit ....... another local talent ..... Trini jazz singer ....... Patti Rogers ........ well ..... she happen tuh be fren ...... wit meh fren who ah went wit ...... all in all ...... it was a lovely evening of music ...... too bad ..... the turnout wasn't better ...... Trinis real miss out!!! ...... ah tryin tuh see if ah could ...... maintain dis ...... checking out of local talent scene ..... cuz hear nah ...... I feel it have some real good shit ...... dat we Trinis does be missin out on regular ...... meh nex stop ..... is de Ataklan show in Ibiza ..... he tell meh ..... he lookin tuh pass tru dey some time this month!

Monday now ...... ah went tuh de grocery ....... ah spen $609 ....... meh cart (de new lil baby ones) was full tuh de brim ...... and not cuz ah buy anyting big ...... de only big items was ..... meh HiDee Toilet paper 6-pack ..... and meh bread ...... everything else ...... was small ting ....... so I spend $609 ..... on small ting!!! ..... ah couldn't even afford tuh buy some apples self!!! ...... imagine ..... I now walk eeeen de grocery ..... so yuh know it have ah kinda order yuh does go in ...... yuh does head tuh de left first ...... by de fruits and vegetables ..... and den yuh does proceed ..... in de up-and-down each aisle scene ...... anyway .... as ah ben de corner ...... ah spot apples in de distance ..... and like fly tuh shit ...... ah end up by dem ...... well when ah see de price ...... a press on de gyas one time ....... cuz you know is ....... $41 and some small change ...... fuh 6 red skin apples!?!
Tuesday and Wednesday ...... dem two days is just a blur ...... I doh even remember what I do dem two days ..... so it was probably a lot of ..... NOTHING .......
Today now ....... ah had some spins tuh make in town ...... well I reach in town at 1:45 pm ...... and was done by 3:10 pm ...... WHA???? ...... Miracles do happen!!! ...... cuz hear nah ...... no traffic ...... ah went Republic Bank ...... ah get ah nice park in dey car park ....... ah spend muzbe bout 15 minutes ...... and dat was probably because ah end up chattin wit ah fren I eh see in ah while ..... den after dat ...... ah went right across de street ...... tuh Board of Inland Revenue ..... well dis one nearly make meh faint ...... cuz I walk up tuh de security ...... and pull out de BIR document tuh show her ..... so she could advise meh what tuh do ...... when out of nowhere ..... a very pleasant girl appears ....... looks at the document ...... explains what it is (like as tho ah cyah read!) ..... and then directs me to the first floor ...... ah reach de first floor now ...... an' not ah soul in de place ....... I was de next in line ..... needless tuh say ...... that visit lasted all of about 4 minutes ...... then ah went in ah Stationery Store in Excellent Centre ...... and that took 2 mins max ...... den ah went Harriman ...... well dat was 1 minute ...... cuz dey didn't have what ah want ..... then I went to FLOW ..... in de nice new Nicholas Towers building ..... was meh first time ...... an' oh gosh ..... de place nice ...... ah muzbe spend ah 10 minutes in FLOW ..... and again ...... very pleasant service ...... de gyul even smiled tru de whole session ....... den ah went back fuh meh car ...... dat was park up in Republic Bank car park all dat time ...... an ah drive round tuh T&TEC on Broadway .......
Now yuh know ...... I not on T&TEC, TSTT or WASA ...... so since de time ah tell allyuh dat ah feel meh bill wrong ...... and den T&TEC subsequently confirmed my suspicison ..... wit dey full page notice in de papers saying dat some customers bills IS WRONG!! ...... ah had dem dong fuh ah visit long time ....... so of course ah enter de place ..... wit meh beast face ...... well de security boil meh down like bahji ...... cuz I gorn by de man ..... tuh tell him what ah dey for ...... and tuh find out de procedure ..... well my boy tell meh ah need tuh take ah number and wait fuh it tuh call ...... but check dis ...... while he's telling me this ...... he's walking to show me where to get the number ....... and as ah raise meh hand tuh pull out one ....... my boy says "let me get it for you" ....... WTF??? ...... is T&TEC I was in??? ..... as ah matter fact ...... in Trini I was in???? ...... talk about SERVICE! ....... well dat lil gesture had me so impressed eh! ....... anyway ..... ah sit down fuh bout 15 minutes ..... until meh number call ...... and again ...... a very pleasant Clerk explained the bill to me ...... and in essence what she said is ....... I EH HAVE NO BLASTED REFUND TUH GET - MY BILL RITE!!!! ...... but WOW ...... such good service ......
Den on meh way home from town ..... ah pass tru de grocery ...... yes AGAIN (cuz when ah went Monday ah didn't get everyting) ..... HILO Westmall ...... lovely atmosphere (except fuh de prices) ...... everything Christmas out ...... red and green balloons everywhere ..... Christmas decorations ...... all kinda fruit cake and ham and pretty up alcohol bottles on display ..... and yes ..... AGAIN ..... I spotted said apples ...... well ah end up buyin dem ..... de cheaper version that is ...... de yellow ones ....... $21 and some small change ...... ah just had tuh have dem ..... cuz other than an apple a day keeping the doctor away ...... I eh really dealin up wit none ah de odda Christmas goodies ...... so ah had tuh buy meh apples ..... and ah tro eeeeen some grapes too ...... tuh complete de tru Christmas vibes ..... of course it was de ones wit seeds ...... cuz da'is de cheaper kind ..... but talkin bout seeds ..... it had all kinda grapes ...... de red ones, de green ones, de violet (almost black) ones ...... and some was sayin 'Seedless' ...... and some was sayin 'Seeded' ..... huh?? ....... what is seeded grapes?!! ..... grapes dat dey take out de seed ...... or grapes dat dey put eeen seeds?!
Anyway ..... I doh know if is dat my karma change fuh de better ...... I doh know if is de recession ..... I doh know if is de magic of de Christmas Season ...... but dem splashes of good customer service ..... dat I get today ...... ah good ...... ah takin dat fuh meh Christmas!

By the way, Peardrax and Vodka is a most excellent drink, smooth and elegant. Packs a healthy kick that isn't indicated by the tate so watch out. (^|^)
