I get real kix yesterday ....... after reading an email from a friend ....... about Guyana's President (Bharrat Jagdeo) ...... chainin up de Police ..... to investigate who it is ..... impersonating him on Facebook ..... cuz Grrrrrrrr?? ...... you know how much ah dat crap does go orn on Facebook ...... I doh understand why he feel he special ...... is real people does get impersonated ...... look in today's Express ..... where dat same story was highlighted ..... dey reveal dat our very own Prime Minister, Patrick Manning ....... have about 5 profiles too ...... an' all ah dem FAKE!!!

Facebook is ah ting dat never interest me ...... and neither did any of its predecessors ...... I doh even socialise in real life ...... worse again on ah online social network!! ...... in de earlies ....... ah used tuh always get those Facebook 'invites' from 'friends'...... and would never take dem orn ..... den about 2 years ago ..... a real friend of mine ...... cluelessly end up joining (after gettin one ah dem same invites) ..... and very soon after she was hooked ..... my gyul start tuh real like herself on Facebook ..... and in an effort tuh spread de joy ...... she start tuh poke my ass tuh join up too ...... well ...... not knowing too much about it at the time ....... I still somehow had a sixth sense ...... that dat crap wasn't fuh me ...... so I declined her invitation ...... but yuh know how de ting does go ...... twas de new hot shit ...... everybody was talkin about it ..... everybody was on it ..... so naturally ...... meh maco glands raise ....... an' ah jus had tuh check it out ...... so fuh research purposes only ..... ah give in .... an' ah end up joinin ...... but not as ME ...... as NOBODY  ..... and ..... within just a couple of days of pokin around ..... my suspicions were confirmed ...... Facebook was ah wrap!!!!

From then on ...... I really didn't mince words ...... when it came tuh expressing my feelings about it ...... and the reactions would always crack me up ...... cuz the shock ...... and gasps ...... and pure astonishment ...... and then that would be immediately followed by ample offerings of dotish reasons ...... as to why I must/should be ah part of de whole Facebook phenomenon ...... reasons like ...... linking up with people dat yuh eh see or talk to fuh umpteen years ...... like if I really want tuh talk tuh somebody ..... dat I eh talk to in 20 years!!!! ...... then some found it cool ..... fuh 'connecting' wit everybody at de same time (like email I suppose) ...... which doh appeal tuh me either ...... cuz Iz ah 'individual attention' kinda gal ...... so you postin ah generic MERRY CHRISTMAS on yuh profile ....... instead of sendin me a personalised greeting (or even callin) ...... eh go cut it wit me!!! ...... then some thought it was cool to maco all the mutual friends they had among all the 'friends' ....... steups! ....... den there were those who obviously joined tuh monitor dey chirren (I assume) ...... cuz de amount ah hard back man and woman I see on dat ting ..... some real unlikely people ...... dey had tuh be orn fuh dey chirren!!! ....... den some people liked de 'forget bout payin fuh ah real website - jus advertise yuh shit on Facebook' scene ...... de amount ah ting I hear ...... yuh woulda swear dat some ah dem 'justifiers' was gettin commission!

But .... even tho I couldn't be convinced ..... and it was something dat ah still didn't too much up ...... I never removed my profile ...... I'm still orn ..... as the same person who doh exist ...... so ...... needless tuh say ....... I have no friends ...... and I don't get poked ...... which is two (of de many) tings ...... dat always baffled me about Facebook ...... cuz WTF is dat POKING ting about ...... and who de ass does really have 2,000 plus 'FRIENDS'???
 
Imagine ...... de odda day I bounce up ah old colleague in de Grocery ...... and Facebook come up ...... you could believe dat ...... da'is tuh tell yuh how sickenin dat ting is ....... anyway ...... she ask meh if ah on Facebook ...... and I immediately blurted out ...... "NO - can't stand Facebook" ....... well my gyul (wit ah lil smirk on her face) hit meh back ...... "wha happen, yuh fraid nobody ask yuh tuh be dey fren?" ...... well after a good laugh ..... I wasted no more time in advising ..... that I'd rather have no friends ...... than have 2,000 plus FAKE Facebook friends ..... who probably only sent ah 'friend request' ...... because ah muzbe fart in dey direction once!!!

Den remember de time ah end up in Corner Bar ...... and two local bands was performin (Gyazette and Cabezon) ...... well ...... ah kinda strike up a conversation wit one of de Cabezon band members ...... wit a view to finding out more about de band ...... and enquiring as to where ah could get ongoing information etc. ....... you know what de man go tell me ..... FACEBOOK ...... well ah roll up meh eye ..... leggo ah steups ...... an' ah tell him dat ah not on FACEBOOK ...... de man watch meh ..... like if is ah alien he was talkin to ..... den de same thing happen ...... when ah had see Ataklan in 51 Degrees (at de Ricardo Mendoza show) ..... and he had mention dat he was plannin ah pre-Christmas show in Ibiza ...... he too tell meh ...... FACEBOOK ...... fuh further details! ..... so is like if yuh not on Facebook ...... yuh is nobody!!!

It is becoming quite apparent ..... dat dis ting here tuh stay ...... and just gettin bigger ...... but ..... FACEbook ..... FAKEbook ....... MACObook ....... Networking ...... whatever yuh want tuh call it ...... it jus eh my scene ...... but da'is no scene ..... it's all good ...... different strokes fuh different folks ...... cuz fuh me ...... blogging is de real vibes ..... which is another ting dat real people doh get either!
