New Year ... new me? ... maybe!
On December 17, 2008 ...... while consuming my daily dose of news-paper ..... I came across two UTT ads ....... advertising courses in some pretty interesting stuff ...... so I immediately sent them an email ..... requesting further information .....
Today ...... 19 days later ....... I still have not received a reply to my email!! ...... now ah know ...... dat between den an now ...... everybody had more important tings tuh study ....... like Christmas and Old Year's an' ting ..... but oh gosh man ..... ah figure dat by at least today ...... ah woulda hear from dem!!! ...... anyway ...... with the deadline date ..... just 2 days away (Jan 7) ..... I decided I'd call them ...... even tho by now ..... my initial excitement ..... had turned into pissness (at not gettin no reply) ...... and my whole perception of UTT generally ...... was no longer too good ..... cuz how unprofessional I thought ..... is this our new University ..... or ah Government Office??!!
Anyway ..... so still tryin tuh give dem de benefit of de doubt ..... and give me de benefit too ...... of doin de damn course!! ..... ah put orn meh ...... 'pure hate an' ah ackin normal' persona ..... ah dial de number ...... an' ah enter de extension quoted in de ad ...... no answer ...... so ah call again (cuz de skeptic in me doh leave messages) ...... and no answer again ....... so I called again (fuh de 3rd time) ...... and instead ...... I pressed '0' fuh de Operator ...... phew ...... finally ..... someone answered (a female) ...... so I explained to her that I was trying to reach a specific extension ...... but no one was answering it ...... and I enquired whether she could maybe put me on to another extension ..... well ..... she immediately offered to help ..... instead of just transferring me to uncertainty (which I really liked) ..... so I posed a few questions to her ..... and even tho she couldn't answer all ..... she attempted to get the answer to each one ..... after which .... she tried 'the extension' again ..... which apparently is assigned to a Kimberly ...... who is really the person that I needed to speak with in de first place!! ...... fortunately ...... Kimberly was back ..... and she answered 'the extension' ......
Kimberly confirmed the info that I had already received ...... and was able to advise further on other stuff ...... however ...... it was when I sought clarification ..... on the start date of the course ...... that things got a lil weird ..... cuz in the ad ...... it says 'Saturdays only' ...... but the start date quoted is Jan 12 .... which is actually a Monday?! ....... well apparently my gyul wasn't aware of the error ...... and immediately said she'd have to call me back ...... so she took my name and my number ...... with a promise to call me ..... and she also advised that in the interim ..... she'd email me a Registration Form ..... which I could complete and return to her via email etc. etc. etc. ......
Well ...... yuh know when ah hear de word 'EMAIL' ...... it jus trigger sumtin in de ignorant side of meh brain ...... ah say hear nah sistren ...... de reason we havin dis conversation at all ...... is because I sent y'all an email since December 17 (2008) ...... and nobody ever replied to me ...... so how come yuh suggesting email now?! ....... so my gyul ..... like she pull up her email now ...... and start tuh run tru it ...... when suddenly she hit meh ...... BUT I DID REPLY TO YOU! ...... so I tell her I never get no email from dem ..... well de gyul insist dat she replied ...... she even read out my email to me ...... which only proves really dat she got de email ....... but ...... if she say she reply ...... wha I could do ..... I have tuh believe her ...... altho ..... between you an' me ...... I feel de email still limin in her OUTBOX an' she doh even know!! ..... cuz it's just strange that I never got de email ...... da'is ah email address I using fuh years now ...... and I never experience dat kinda problem wit it!! ...... anyway ...... she offered to re-send it ...... and I gave her an additional address to forward it to also (NOTE: Up to the time of writing this post I still have not received the 're-send' at any of the addresses I gave her)
So wuz de moral of dis story ...... keep cool I guess .... an' doh sweat de small stuff ..... an' doh jump tuh conclusions ...... cuz here I was ..... gettin more and more pissed by de day ....... dat de deadline date drawing near ...... and UTT just not responding tuh my email ...... when in trute an' in fact ..... they did ...... and on top ah dat ..... de two ladies dat ah end up dealin wit ...... when ah call (wit attitude) ..... end up bein extremely helpful and very pleasant!
All in all ...... my faith was renewed ...... and I now feel much more comfortable handing over my thousands of dollars to UTT ...... actually ah talkin shit ...... handin over money is never a comfortable feelin ...... but yuh know what ah mean!...... Kimberly still needs to clarify some stuff (like de date/day jokiness) ...... and I'll probably go check dem out tomorrow ...... quite in Tunapuna ...... yeah ..... cuz altho de course is in POS ...... yuh hadda go quite Tunapuna tuh pay ...... but say what ...... ah goin an' put meh camera tuh charge ..... an' ah goin an' see if ah need anyting in Pennywise!
PS: I googled the Course Instructors ..... and SALT ..... couldn't find dem nowhere!! ..... den outta pure idleness ...... I googled me ..... ever did that? ...... it's kinda funny ..... I found so many other people with my exact name (altho in Trini my surname is very uncommon) ..... one was having a baby ...... one on Facebook ...... one White? ..... one is ah Therapist ..... one is Company Director ...... one is ah Mrs. ...... hmmmmm

I eh go lie nah but reading yuh blog while it doh ease mih own ups and downs in dis ting called life, it does sure reassure mih tuh know udders not only going through dey own 'ting' buh eh afraid tuh share.
Ah hope yuh New Years resolution wasn't tuh stop jumping tuh conclusions cause it look like yuh get yuh share of exercise over UTT.
I does goggle mihself,(hmmm, dat sounding rude eh). Some of mih writing in different places does turn up. Ah also find out it have ah fat, okay 'chubby' white man wukking in Insurance wid mih exact name. Dat scary no tail.

Look, she didn't send the email and blaming it on the email is the oldest new trick in the book. I use it all the time. UTT, from my experience, is still trying to figure out who they are. They have the potential but it's going to take a while before they have any international reputation outside of diplomas. Still, I feel it's better to hand over money to UTT than to some of those schools that promise degrees without trying. It's also better than handing it over to the tax man directly.
I Google my real name and pseudonyms all the time during bouts of boredom but so far I haven't seen my real name on Google but my pseudonyms are now very popular.

Anyway ..... hear de scene ... is now 2:10 pm ..... and I cyah leave de house yet ...... actually ...... water now come back ...... which means ..... is bucket and container an' ting tuh full back ..... wares tuh wash ..... shower to be had ...... and various other things dat require water dat ah couldn't bloody do ..... sooooo ...... you know I eh goin nowhere again (today) ....... tuh end up in no traffic ....
nex scene .... I eh get no email or phone call yet ..... I just tried calling (both numbers in de ad) ...... and no answer at any ...... hmmmmm .....
last scene ...... when ah eh get no answer ....... ah remember dat ah know somebody 'connected' tuh UTT (who ah shoulda jus call in de first place!) ...... so ah call him ...... an' he give meh de full run down of de course ..... and he even offer tuh show meh samples of work done in previous courses etc. ..... which is one of the things I enquired about in my email ..... which Kimberly say dey doh have (sample pics that is) ......
So ..... tomorrow I'll go check out the samples in POS ..... and then head up Tunapuna after ..... cuz tomorrow if 'the day' .... de final day tuh pay .....

Apparently she re-sent the email today ..... and was kinda wondering why I didn't call her or even turn up at their office .... cuz I did tell her that I was coming today .... so she end up callin meh tuh touch base .....
...... well we get kix off of why I just not gettin HER emails ...... she read out her email reply tuh meh on de phone ...... and we jus laugh it off ...... I also mentioned tuh her that I wrote about her her ...... and dat people responded sayin 'she eh sen no email' ..... and she laughed dat off too ......
I will meet her tomorrow when I go to pay ..... cuz is her ah have tuh go to!
