After finding out that KMC was gonna be in Zen Friday nite ..... ah call up ah padna ..... an' ah chain up de scene ...... he had a few turns tuh make before tho ..... wit 51 Degrees being one (fuh somebody birthday lime) ...... so ah end up in 51 ..... my favourite-est place ever (NOT!) ..... anyway ..... so we reach ...... we find de lime ...... an' ah call dong ah scotch an' coconut one time ...... cuz dey had ah table with drinks an' ting ..... you know when fren han meh de glass .... de glass still have de label on it ...... so I start tuh get kix .... an' I show him ..... only tuh realise dat he own have de label on it too ..... but only piece ...... cuz like when dey was washing it (well we hope dey wash it) .... dey muzbe try tuh peel it off ...... an' de whole ting eh come off .... so it was half sticker ...... half sticky!! ...... turns out ..... ALL the glasses on de tray ..... was apparently new ...... and ALL had pieces ah sticker on dem still ...... hmmmm ..... how TACKY!!!

So anyway ..... de music real jammin ...... an' de party goin' nice ..... when fren get word dat ah nex padna outside .... an' dey doh want tuh let him eeeeen ..... now said bracee is ah Trini ..... but he does live away ...... and apparently he had jus land ...... and come straight tuh 51 tuh hang ...... I doh know him ...... but ah understand he's some big time DJ or sumtin in NY (like real big) ...... anyway ..... fren now ..... who is ah kinda 'somebody' too ..... gorn outside tuh see what he could do ...... about 10-15 minutes later ...... fren come back sweatin ..... frantically lookin fuh one of de owners ...... cuz de bracers (aka morons with minimal gray matter) jus didn't want tuh let eeeeen dude ..... and fuh why ..... because dude had orn ah sneakers ...... not no shabby gym sneakers eh ....... ah real cork black and white Pumas ....... now could anybody explain tuh me ...... WTF ...... havin orn ah Puma sneakers on yuh foot ..... have tuh do wit not being able tuh enter ah club???? ..... well I get so mad eh ..... ah say nah ..... doh tell meh ah have tuh write up dis place again ...... fuh de umpteenth time ...... cuz someting is clearly wrong ..... cuz fuh you tuh watch ah stylishly dressed ..... descent lookin ..... well groomed man ...... an' tell him dat he cyah get eeeeen de club ..... because he have orn ah 'sneakers' ...... is just de ultimate in assness!!! ...... an' doh tell meh nuttin bout no dress code ...... it didn't have nuttin tuh do wit de dress code ...... cuz fren who went tuh try an' help ...... had orn ah CONVERSE on HE foot!!! .... so clearly ..... at 51 Degrees ...... it have sneakers ...... an' it have 'sneakers'!!!

Anyway .... fren eventually found one of the owners (of this very prestigious club) ..... who eventually allowed dude tuh come eeeen (wit his lowly footwear) ...... but why all ah dat crap had tuh play out?! ..... fuh someting so dotish?! *SIGH*

I never made it tuh de 4 levels of Zen ..... and apparently so did a lot of other people (i.e. never made it either) ..... ah hear it buss ...... an' ah hear de band wasn't all dat ..... well ..... according tuh some peeps who went .... and who end up in 51 ..... so like ah eh miss nuttin!


So dat was Friday night .... moving on to last nite now ....


Last nite I had to pick up my mother in de Airport ...... the flight was scheduled tuh land at 10:30 pm ..... so at about 10:15 pm ..... ah head out ..... cuz I doh really like tuh hang around de Airport ...... so whenever I makin ah pickup ...... I does try tuh reach ...... in time fuh when folks come outside .....

So anyway ...... knowing dat de big Blazing Fire Fete was on last nite ...... ah kinda work out in meh head ...... dat I'll take Wrightson Road tuh head up ...... but some other route tuh come back ...... Wrightson Road was real cool and getting there was ah breeze ..... ah take meh cool time drivin up de road ..... jus cruisin and soakin eeeeen some soca on de radio ..... ah muzbe reach up about 10:55 pm ......

While driving in de Airport now ...... ah notice ah setta cars park up outside (about 10) ...... where yuh not supposed tuh park ...... and de 'drivers' not in none ah dem eh ...... cuz yuh know when yuh park dotish ...... yuh does stay in de car jus in case ...... well no ..... none ah de cars had people in dem ..... well ah jus had tuh shake meh head (in disgust) ...... cuz it just so typical of Trinis ...... tuh so easily do de wrong ting ...... instead of jus doing de right ting ..... and all tuh save ah $5 fuh de car park ......

Anyway ..... when ah reach eeeeen de car park now ..... de whole right side block up ...... like half of the entire car park ...... I doh know if they fixin it up fuh de Summits or what ...... but something was going orn ..... parkin was only available on de left side ..... so yuh could just imagine where I end up getting ah park ..... cuz yuh know on ah regular day ..... dat Airport car park does done be tizzick ahready ...... worse again on ah day .... when half of it lock off .....

Now as ah say ..... I doh like tuh hang around de Airport ...... so if when ah reach ..... folks eh outside yet .... I does jus stay in de car ...... so after ah park ...... ah turn off de A/C (and de car - tuh save on meh premium gas) ...... ah rock back de seat ..... turn down meh window ..... and settle eeeen tuh take ah lil chill ..... while listening tuh de radio ...... and awaiting my mother's call tuh say she outside ......

Anyway ..... de vibes on de radio goin nice ..... ah cool breeze blowing ...... when suddenly ...... my ears are assaulted with the sound of indian music ...... not chutney soca eh (not that that woulda be any better) ...... but real indian music?! ...... now about 5 minutes earlier ...... a posse had pass in front meh car ..... and then disappeared into the car park ..... well ..... turns out ..... they disappeared tuh just two cars away from mine ..... ah station wagon ..... and dey had de back open up ..... blasting indian music ..... while bussin ah lil small lime in de empty spot next tuh dem ...... I mean like ah real lime eh ...... drinks ...... music ....... loud laughter etc. etc. etc. ......

Well I couldn't believe what I was witnessing ...... cuz is like de whole family come down tuh buss de Airport lime ...... I didn't even realise that people does still do dat shit ...... like ah know it used tuh happen .... when we had de 'waving gallery' ..... but seriously ....... what where those people doing ...... dey didn't look like dey come tuh pick up anybody ..... or drop off anybody ..... dey look like dey jus wanted tuh lime ...... and de Airport seemed ah feasible option ....... cuz ah mean ..... tink about it ..... it have parking ...... it have security ..... it have ah bar ...... it have real space tuh groove ..... yuh eh need to EMA clearance ...... and de price jus rite ...... only ah $5 ah hour ..... fuh ah whole carload!!!

Tank de Lord ...... dat by 11:30 pm ..... my mother called tuh say dat she was outside ...... the party was over fuh me!! .....

Driving out now (and back around) ...... to go get my mother ..... ah see ah Wrecker lickin up de cars dat was illegally parked outside ...... well a fuzzy joyous feeling overcame me ...... cuz it was @#$%^&* good fuh all ah dem who park dey ....... people too damn doh care and lawless and wutless in dis country now ...... so fuh breaksin from ah $5 ..... dey now woulda have tuh pay about ah $100 tuh get back dey car ....... stupidity at ah very high level!!!

But talkin bout dat $5 ..... is it $6 ah hour now ..... cuz I hand de woman ah blue note ..... and ah get back $94 change ..... unless she give meh wrong change ..... doh know!

Anyway ..... de drive back home ...... was just as good ...... and I was so busy chattin wit my mother ..... dat I clean forget ..... dat I didn't want tuh pass back Wrightson Road (cuz of de big Blazing Fire Fete nah) ..... well ..... let's just say ...... is only when ah reach de Foreshore ..... dat ah realise ...... dat is dey self ah pass ...... but where exactly was Blazing Fire Fete last nite ..... cuz when I passed ..... at about someting tuh 12 midnight ..... there was ZERO activity on Wrightson Road?!

Ahhh ..... things I just don't understand ...... silly dress codes ...... and Airport limes ..... anyway ...... I'm out ..... I'm going to read some papers now ...... yet another ting ah does doh understand sometimes!
