It is 1:18 am ..... on de day after Fantastic Friday ..... an' de Soca Monarch still goin orn ...... Blaxx on stage ..... and rain pourin in Diego ...... so I assume dat it pourin over de Stadium too ..... could you imagine dat ram out Stadium blessed wit rain ...... cuz from de looks of tings on TV ...... it certainly is ah Fantastic Friday in dey ...... you see de amount ah people in dat ting? ....... and more importantly ...... did you see Denise Belfon's outfit????
I learned yesterday ..... well Thursday actually ...... that nothing is fuh FREE ...... you pay ...... somehow ...... some way!!!
Thursday was Beach House ...... and a very sweet friend of mine ...... handle meh (and 2 odda frens too) ....... so wit mega-expensive tickets in hand ($700 each) ...... me and fren 1 and fren 2 ...... was on we way tuh Beach House ...... and trust me ...... we paid ...... not in cash ...... but in much pain and suffering!!!
Now I does go dat party every year ....... and every year is ah stress tuh get tuh it ....... but fuh some dumb reason ....... I figured with a new venue ...... tings woulda been better ...... Grrrrrr???? ....... NO EH! ...... de party keep in Couva this year ...... a place I doh frequent ...... so I really didn't know where de hell I was goin ...... but fren 2 knew de place ...... so ...... at about 2:45 pm ...... fren 1 reach by me ...... an' shortly after ..... we jump eeeen my car ...... tuh head out tuh meet fren 2 ...... now remember is Diego I was headin out from ..... an' ah had tuh pick up fren 2 in Movant ...... so de obvious route was tuh take de Lady Young ...... until fren 2 call tuh say ....... DOH PASS DEY ..... cuz apparently dey was fixin some part of it ....... and was mad traffic whole day ....... so ...... ah continue straight ..... an' ah end up on Wrightson Road ..... tuh head down de Beethan highway ....... tuh go back on de Lady Young ....... well LAWD ...... more traffic (dat jus wasn't movin) ...... so ah say yuh know what ...... leh meh try de Lady Young ....... BIG MISTAKE (as fren 2 had done advise) ....... I end up reachin quite Piccadilly ...... den de Eastern Main Road ...... den de Lady Young ....... den was an about turn ..... tuh de Churchill Roosevelt .......
Now in non-explicit terms ...... de traffic dat day was ..... STINK ..... EVERYWHERE ..... I swear ..... I can't remember the last time I was caught up in such ridiculous traffic ....... I was going bonkers ...... I just wanted tuh say 'Scotty, please @#$%^&* beam me up!!!' ...... cuz the traffic jus wasn't moving ..... and what was most puzzling .... was after de Grand Bazaar traffic lights ...... smooth sailing yuh know (well kinda) ....... in a very short space ah time ...... we were in Couva ...... and very aware too ...... that Beach House was somewhere close by ...... cuz they installed nuff signs along de way ...... fuh clueless people like me .......
hmmmmm ...... what does it mean ....... saw this by de Grand Bazaar traffic lights ......

..... and even when we reach Couva ...... more traffic again ......

party ..... cuz dis is de road drivin in tuh Brechin Castle ...... doh ask meh de name!
Anyway ...... after sitting in traffic fuh what seemed like 10 hours ...... we finally reach de venue ...... Brechin Castle ...... now I never went Brechin Castle before ....... so just as I was clueless about where Couva is ...... I was also clueless about de 'Castle' ....... so we drive eeeeen de real bumpy road ...... only tuh bounce up ah next setta traffic ...... yes ...... there was traffic tuh get ah park too ....... I end up gettin ah park in what looked like ah swamp ...... of course fren 1 and fren 2 make out de scene ..... and promptly found dey ass outta de car before ah park ...... so chupidee (ME) ...... had tuh walk tru de knee high bush (by sheself) ...... in she cute flats!
..... look .... look at dat line up ..... and do you see any car park ..... no ..... cuz de car park
was way after dis line up!
When ah reach out de bush now ...... an' meet up wit fren 1 and 2 ...... was ah next setta bush we had tuh walk tru (so dey eh get away) ...... yes ...... bush and trees ...... I was feelin like little red ridin hood (cuz ah had orn red) ...... I was so not impressed eh ...... as ah matter of fact ...... AH WAS PISSED (and tired and drained and hungry and headache-y) .......
Cuz we left Diego at 3:15 pm ....... and we reach de party at ...... 6:30 pm ........ ah party dat was supposed tuh finish at 8:00 pm ........ so it took us ...... 3 hours ...... and 15 minutes tuh reach de party ....... an' jus cuz of traffic ...... on de road ...... and on de Brechin Castle compound ...... den when we finally reach de actual entrance tuh de party now ...... de security have attitude ..... and Bmobile handin out glow sticks ...... well you know where I wanted tuh tell dem tuh stick dey stick right?!
Anyway ...... tuh cut ah usual very long story short ....... bout 3 scotch and coconut later ....... de party was nice ...... talk about food ....... fuh de eye an de belly ..... ah real gape ...... it had real nice man ....... an' ah eat some real yummy food too ....... shrimp and oysters and some kinda veggie ting and jasmin rice ....... de toilet scene was cool too ...... nuff of them ..... altho in the wrong direction .... like Beach House didn't know dat yuh does put de entrance tuh de toilets away from public sight (fuh ah lil discreetness nah) ..... but ..... barrin that ...... they were clean ..... and dey put dong de port-o-floor ting ..... dat I saw a woman fall on ...... and oh gorm ...... dey had nuff mirrors ..... now da'is what we talkin bout ...... at least they were clued in tuh de fact dat ...... beautiful people need mirrors man!! ...... all in all ..... the ambience was just like Ortinola ...... I leave de party when it done, done, done ...... it was so done ...... dat de cleaners was cleanin up ...... and only de organisers was still dey ...... ah come late .... an' ah leave late!
I certainly got my money's worth in the end ...... and afterwards was off tuh TRIBE ....... another party dat was 'handled' by ah fren of ah fren ..... and purely by flukes ..... yes ...... de man wife leave him in de party ...... an' he bum ah drop wit ME ...... cuz yuh know I couldn't leave a brutha in de dark ..... in de bush ...... in Couva ..... so he wanted ah drop tuh TRIBE ...... and he offered tuh take de whole carload tuh de party (at $400 each eh!) ...... ah stay in de TRIBE up tuh Bunji and Faye Ann ....... and right after dat ...... was home fuh me ...... so ..... after leaving my house at approximately 3:15 pm on Thursday ....... I didn't get home until about 5:00 am on Friday .....
CARNIVAL SWEET YES! ....... but in all seriousness ...... BEACH HOUSE committee ...... if any of allyuh does maco de scene .... is time fuh de carnival fete tuh hold in de West eh .... PLEASE ...... ah cyah take dat east traffic no more!!! ...... ah guarantee dat if allyuh hold de party in de West ..... allyuh go save on alcohol too ...... cuz trust meh ...... dat traffic situation does jus cause people tuh drink more .....

Faye-Ann's performance was boss. From the get go, she had the crowd eating out of her hands. As for Blaxx, he redeemed himself to a respectable 4th place. I was hoping he didn't make another mess like last year.
