Why it is ..... dat people who own dangerous dogs ...... doh put blasted muzzles on de dogs when dey takin dem out fuh ah walk ...... and why it is ...... dey does be quick tuh 'put down' de dog ..... if de dog attack somebody ..... oh shit ...... is ah dog ...... ah bad one at dat ....... that's what dey do ...... Yesterday ah went PriceSmart ..... which was ah kinda one off ting ..... cuz I'm not a member ...... ah was lookin fuh a certain item ..... and a friend (who is member) ....... suggested that I try there ...... so ...... under his membership ...... we went ...... well ..... it turns out ..... they didn't have de item ...... but in de course of gapin ...... I couldn't pass up ..... what I felt was ah real good deal ...... 5 panty fuh only $100 ...... now men wouldn't understand this ..... but women certainly would ...... cuz panties real expensive ...... so of course ..... ah hops up ah pack ..... along with ah pack of 2 camisoles ..... so anyway...... we reach up tuh de Cashier now ...... and she tell meh ..... dat dey doh have no bags ..... and dat I could buy a set (of 4) from them ..... some kyna jokey lookin market bag ...... now as ah say ..... is only 5 panty and 2 camisole I was buyin ...... so me eh buy no bag ...... but geeeez ...... de embarrassment of walkin out de store ...... wit said panties in hand ...... ah start tuh tink bout dem vendors on Charlotte Street ...... and how I would scoff at the thought of buying a panty on de pavement in town ...... but what was the difference really ..... except dat on Charlotte Street ..... ah sure ah woulda get ah bag (tuh conceal meh purchase) ...... but kudos tuh PriceSmart tho ..... fuh goin green ..... and fuh takin dat environmentally friendly stance ..... altho it was kinda mentally unfriendly .... fuh this unsuspecting customer!

Wuzdescene, who said that President Castro is coming?? I haven't seen any news about that. The last I heard was Minister Gopee-Scoon's statement that the time was not right for Cuba to be invited. Has this changed?
This post is great, as usual. I'm dying to see that latest Trini language dictionary. I know of two - "Cote ci Cote la" and "Trini Talk" but there could be more. Our language is a beautiful thing and that's just one of the features of your blog that I love. You capture it so well I can hear my home and for that I am always grateful.

Bandi is right. While Cuba IS a member of the Organization of American States (OAS) it has been excluded, since 1962, from participation in multilateral meetings and the Summits because it is felt that its communist regime is not in keeping with OAS principles.
I wrote specifically about Cuba in the second comment on this post . Here is the explanation from one USA Senior Administration Official:
"The summit is about democracies, it's not anti anything. Cuba is not excluded from the Summit of the Americas process; Cuba has excluded itself by having a system of government of 42 years of arbitrary rule by one man, which basically fails even the most liberal definition and generous definition that we may be willing to give ourselves, whether you're from the left or the right, about what democracy is about."

Some random responses eh.
I figure out dat ting wid de landslip. If yuh live near de first one and follow de alternative route yuh okay. If yuh live near de second one den yuh follow dat alternate route. If yuh eh living by none ah dem and read about both landslips is you go be in trouble. I could see it now, people near de first heading by de second one tuh parse and people from by de second one heading by de first one tuh parse.
