Oh gawd ....... meh camera zorcin ...... one minute it workin ...... de next minute it not ...... ah cyah breathe ....... ah cyah eat ....... ah cyah sleep ....... an' worse of all ...... I eh get tuh take no pics off de new Interchange ...... ah like ah fish outta water ...... ah doh know what tuh do ...... ah mean ...... ah know what tuh do ..... but ah doh know if it even make sense tuh try an' fix it ..... cuz it real beat up eh ..... it ole ...... it also done survive about 4 fall ahready ..... but ah doh have no money tuh buy ah new one ...... ah goin crazy ...... macos like me cyah survive witout ah camera ...... you know how much ting I miss out on ..... ah cyah even write ..... cuz witout meh pics ...... ah lorse fuh words!!

Look last Friday ..... ah had meh exhibition (fuh de lil UTT course ah was doin) ...... an' ah couldn't even take ah single pic!!!!

Anyway ...... ah hopin fuh de bess ...... ah hopin someting work out soon (cuz ah done sen out ah SOS to my daddy )

So ..... on tuh de write fuh tonight ...... which I been meaning tuh do since about 3 days ago ...... cuz ah make meh Derby debut weekend gorn ...... yes ...... Saturday ...... I (and real odda people) end up in de Santa Rosa Race Place ...... fuh de big Brian Lara 40th birthday bash ..... imagine dat ..... it take Brian Lara tuh lure me tuh races ...... cuz dat is someting I was never interested in ...... honestly ....... when ah first heard about de proposed celebration ...... ah really couldn't picture partyin wit racing horses eh ...... but watch meh ...... de man is clearly ah genius ..... cuz de ting went down real cork ...... his vision actually worked ...... cuz as ah say ..... dat was de FIRST time I ever went horse racing ..... and I sure that that was de first time dat plenty ah dem people ever went horse racing too ..... which I think was the idea behind de whole scene ..... i.e. tuh get people tuh go races (a la trini posse in cricket) ...... but mind you ...... altho ah was at horse racin ..... ah was more focus on de party aspect eh ..... so I eh really watch none ah de races ...... or bet ...... but it was real excitin bein so close tuh speedin horses ...... cuz de actual shindig ..... was in de middle of de race track ..... look it in de pic below ..... all dem pointy-tip white tent was de 'party' .....

So leh meh start from de top .......

I had heard about this event about a month ago ..... and altho I know Mr. Lara personally (who doesn't?!) ..... I was not personally invited ..... which is always de case whenever I end up somewhere ...... so ...... when on Friday May 1 ...... fren call tuh chain meh up ...... cuz she happen tuh get some of de 4000+ tickets dat was flung all over Trinidad ...... I say cool ..... Iz now ah invitee ...... it free ...... it different ...... so leh we party!

Now ..... not having seen the actual ticket ..... I was advised by fren ..... of its contents ...... which stated that I am to wear a hat ..... and that I am to reach by 3:00 pm ...... as 3:00 pm was de time set ..... fuh de last CROSSING ...... Grrrrrr??? ....... of course I didn't know what de rass dat mean ..... I just know ...... dat ah had tuh find meh arse in Santa Rosa fuh 3:00 pm!

So ..... knowin very well ..... dat I eh have no hat ...... an' I eh wearin no hat ...... ah fly out meh bed bright an' early Saturday morning ...... tuh organise outfit ...... cuz of course now ..... without de hat ...... ah woulda have tuh make ah extra effort ...... tuh still try an' look phat ..... well I turn de house inside out ...... lookin fuh ting tuh wear ...... only tuh realise dat is ah setta blasted mismatch clothes I have ....... so with just about 1 hour tuh spare ...... ah fly down Westmall ...... it took me all of 15 minutes tuh find someting tuh 'match' (and pay meh phone bill) ...... so ah fly back home now ..... an' ah start tuh get ready one time ..... cuz is two frens I had tuh pick up ...... anyway ....... long story short ...... it had real blasted traffic ...... so me eh know what difference dat Interchange really make ...... den ...... even before we reach dey ..... while ah was on de Lady Young ...... de car in front of me CRASH ..... it nearly fall off de Lady Young ...... like de woman lose control ...... and jus swerve off de road and CRASH into de barrier ...... tank de lord I was a few feet behind (an' not up in she bottom) ...... and dat it even had ah barrier ...... or else ..... woulda be two ah we fallin off de Lady Young ..... I eh even stop tuh investigate/help (which I felt bad about after) ...... cuz ah was runnin late ..... remember ...... we had tuh reach fuh 3:00 pm ..... and we did ...... on de dot!!!

Parking was ah breeze ...... cuz it have ah real big car park up dere ...... next ..... was tuh find out exactly where de hell de CROSSING was ...... which we found with ease too ...... as all yuh was seein as yuh walk tru de gate ..... is ah setta people ....... deck off in dey dan-dan ...... and HAT ...... mind you ...... at dat point ...... I was real vex I didn't don de suggested hat eh ...... cuz de sun was blazin hott ...... anyway ...... so we walk over tuh some official lookin peeps ...... and dey direct us tuh de bMobile line ..... I didn't even know that that was ah pips line ..... so we get we pips bands ...... and was off tuh de next tent ..... tuh wait fuh de race tuh done ...... and fuh dem tuh put down de plastic floor or whatever it was ...... fuh we tuh CROSS ...... well Amen fuh de lil floorin eh ..... cuz yuh gyul had orn she 5" heels ...... so ah doh even need tuh go in tuh how lovely it was CROSSING ..... cuz after de lil put down floor ...... was bush and dirt ...... but not fuh long tho ...... cuz we quickly got tuh de bMobile stand ...... which had ah board floor ...... and real freeness ...... drinks ...... and food ...... and ice cream ..... so again ...... ah doh have tuh tell yuh ..... I drink nuff (scotch and coconut) ...... cuz dem servers was like ninjas ...... as yuh glass get empty ....... dey was appearin outta nowhere!

De whole scene up tuh about 5:30-ish ...... was kinda weird tho ...... cuz picture dis ...... yuh dress up ...... sun blazin ..... breeze blowin ...... yuh standing on ah deck ..... drinkin ...... gapin ...... socialisin ...... it have lil strategically placed umbrellas dat yuh coulda shelter under ...... races runnin ....... some people actually bettin (in ah air condition tent dat was in de same section) ..... oh yeah ...... upon entry yuh got ah $20 voucher tuh bet (I didn't use mine) ...... but yeah ...... back tuh de scene ah was settin ....... so de race done ...... and everybody just standin around lookin at everybody ...... in silence ....... yeah ..... it didn't have no music ....... it was real quiet (fuh de horses nah) ..... but yuh know me ...... was no scene ..... I make my own music ...... cuz my head was real nice!

Da'is de bMobile deck ..... an' tuh de right (off de pic) is de race track ..... A A ...... ah seein ME and frens!


By 5:30-ish ...... de horse racin was over ...... and was time fuh de party tuh start ...... time tuh lavway ..... so de music come orn ..... and de bMobile gyuls start tuh run people off de deck ...... into de middle section (of de middle section) ...... which is where de real bram end up ...... within minutes of usherin everybody away ...... some car start tuh drive eeeen de place ...... ah tink is ah Audi ..... cuz it had some Audi display too ..... anyway ..... so de car start tuh drive eeeeen de middle of de party ..... wit Anya Ayoung Chee and Russel Latapy in it ..... den de Audi man give some speech ...... den dey open up de Audi dat dey had on display ..... which cause people tuh get orn real never-see-come-see ..... goin an' sittin down in it and takin pictures an' ting ..... den after dat ...... it went straight into ah full fledge fashion show ...... wit clothes from designers like Meiling and Radical and Peter Elias and Anthony Reid and oddas ..... after which ...... it had live performances by 3 Canal ...... and Kees ...... and at some point too ...... Brian went on de mike ...... and said a few words tuh his guests ...... and that's all I can say about that ...... cuz by dat time ..... everyting was a blur fuh me ..... I really doh know what he say ...... an' I really doh know what else happen ..... all I know ...... is dat when I was leavin ...... de cleaners had done start cleanin ..... so yes ...... yet again ..... I closed another party!

This is the start of something new ...... it is clear ..... so next year ..... I will definitely be there ...... and with all my races gear (i.e. sunglasses and hat)!



PS:  .... ah went tuh see Wolverine yesterday ..... an' lawd ..... dat Hugh Jackman man ..... talk about edible ...... de man hotttttt fuh days ...... so wud up wit all de bad reviews I been readin ...... I find de movie was de bomb ...... yuh know how much times I just wanted tuh stan up an' clap ..... cuz dat was some seriously enjoyable make-believe shit ..... not tuh mention Hugh's naked ass wasn't too bad either!
