Some day ..... in October 2008 ..... while driving on Cipriani Boulevard ..... I couldn't help but notice those words below ..... dey kinda struck me ...... fuh two reasons ...... one is cuz ah was stuck in traffic ...... an' ah didn't really have nuttin better tuh do ..... dan tuh observe meh surroundings ..... and two ...... fuh de obvious message dat it conveyed .....

I no longer read murder news ...... it's just too much ..... and I've also noticed ...... that the newspapers too ..... are no longer splashing the murder toll on their front pages ..... altho ..... if yuh really want tuh find out what it is ..... all yuh need tuh do ...... is watch any of de nightly TV news ..... cuz dey still seem tuh be keepin tabs ..... ah tink de last time ah watch de news ..... de toll was someting like ...... two hundred and sumtin .....
And tho the murder toll is over 200 to date ..... I'd sometimes see Crime Stoppers ads in the papers ..... seeking help on solving specific ones ..... like for the month of May ..... I saw about 4 ..... then this month I saw 2 ..... including one in yesterday's papers ...... which was a bit different ...... cuz it wasn't about a MURDER ...... it was about a 'DISAPPEARANCE' ..... the disappearance of Tecia Henry .....
Now unless yuh eh living here ....... you will no doubt have heard about Tecia Henry ..... the little 10 year old girl from John John ....... who went to a nearby shop ..... tuh buy bread ..... and never returned home ......
Well ...... while Crime Stoppers was puttin out ad in de papers yesterday ...... seeking assistance in solving her disappearance ...... and while de Express ...... and de Newsday ...... and de Guardian ..... was reportin in dey papers today ...... dat de Anti-Kidnappin Squad lookin fuh her ....... de radio was confirmin ....... dat little Tecia Henry was found ...... dead (allegedly strangled) ...... nude ...... and already in a state of decomposition ...... she would have celebrated her 11th birthday tomorrow ......
WHAT DE ASS IT IS REALLY GOIN ORN IN DIS COUNTRY ...... cuz oh gosh man ..... killin ah big hard back man is one ting (not dat ah condonin dat shit) ..... but how yuh could kill an innocent child!?? ..... and where is Leah Lammy???
Ahhhhh ..... from DISAPPEARANCE ...... to MURDER ...... I guess Crime Stoppers will be publishing a new ad soon .... cuz of course ..... this will probably be yet another unsolvable murder!

How many languages can you say to the gov't that we need more cops on the patrolling everywhere...not even more cops but honest ones.

yes the situation is sad... and as I hear the report I wanted to call sumbody to get me out of here... this $hit affecting my life on a daily...
on another note... watching the news report tonight... what time was it shot... cause the amount of people I see home at that hour... I hadda get into their line of work... sorry... but i casting aspersions on this situation...
our innocent children are paying for sins that they havent committed and until more responsible people in this nation really step up we will continue to sink deeper and deeper into the cess pool...

I plan to do a story on Tecia tomorrow. I couldn't bring myself to do it today. It's just getting too overwhelming now.
ML, I agree that we need more police patrols eh, but there is a DEEPER problem going on in Trinidad that no amount of police presence or Government action will cure.
What is going on with people when they can kill an innocent child allegedly because of a war they have with a close relative??!!!
Tecia was most likely killed the same day she was abducted. The men being questioned took her with the intentions of killing her and THAT is something I will never be able to wrap my mind around.
On top of all that, the war between Picton and John John is about to flare up even more now because her body was found in Picton and the JJ residents believe the Picton residents had info and didn't come forward.
When will it end? R.I.P Little Angel.

Another sad story, my heart goes out to Tecia's family. More police sounds good but it will not solve the existing problem. The root cause of all those crimes is that some parents do not do a good job. Some kids grow up without guidance, dont care about themselves much less about others. They grow up listening to music and watch crap on TV/movies that glorifies crime and violence. We as parents need to take care of our children but the goverment should step in as well and see to it that all kids have a perspective.

Not even the children are safe anymore. While I do not have the ultimate answer to crime, I do believe that the breakdown in family life has contributed to this situation. Families no longer do the simple things like eat and worship together. We need to get back to the basics, the core...the family! May Tecia and all the others who have gone before her rest in peace!
