I still love my country .....
But staying in love ..... is getting harder and harder every day .....
As a female person ..... livin in Trini ..... at some point ...... yuh bound tuh get unsolicited advice ..... on keepin safe ..... wit family, friends and random people tellin yuh ...... what not tuh do ...... and when not tuh do it ..... etc etc ...... and I tink ...... I does get it in double doses ...... cuz besides being female ...... I does move solo plenty ..... yeah ...... cuz when I have tuh go out an' ting ..... me eh have no man pickin me up ..... I drivin mehself ...... so one of the safety tips that I'd always get is ...... if ever ah feel like somebody followin meh while ah drivin home ...... DOH DRIVE HOME ...... jus drive eeeeen de closest Police Station ...... which tuh me ...... seems like sensible advice ...... but wha de ass ...... now yuh cyah even do dat ...... cuz yuh gettin kill right dey in de Police Station too ......
JAH ..... criminals so boldface now ...... dat dey eh even care dat dey killin people ..... right in de Police Station!!!

Crime Scene Unit are led into the West End Police Station yesterday.

I was surprised by this incident. I too use to drive by my lonesome and would be cautioned to drive into a police station if something was wrong, someone following me, etc. In the hopes that they would be deterred and simply flee.
In this case they fled but killed the woman anyway. Pointless. They could have just ran and leave the woman alone. Oh man, I was really saddened by this.

Allow me to rant too eh!
You know what he does? You know what?
He does act as if he is one of us!
That's right--he does act as if he's a reporter so he says things like:
"It is clear that the criminal elements are not letting up"
You don't say! What else is clear to you Mr COP?
And the next thing he likes to do is rattle off statistics about crime! The man just calls a press conference and rattles off stats!
What is his job? To tell us what we already know?
Would this man consider maybe calling a press conference in which he outlines solutions?!
Has anyone heard of any such utterings from his mouth?
All this man has done all year was read crime statistics from a piece of paper. He has offered no solutions. He has not assured the public that they are doing anything new. He just talks about crime like a historian.
This is so surreal eh guyl I cannot even begin to describe it...
I want you to listen to that man (if you can stand it) the next time he speaks and tell me if you hear him do anything but tally the murder rate.
When is the next election? Because I am fed-up.

What a sad story. Criminals are getting bolder and bolder. There is nothing that will deter them, not even the death penalty because they do not value their own life. Since nobody is born a criminal it would be a good time to think about what makes somebody turn criminal and do something about the root causes.

I suppose bandits also love their country because if offers them the opportunity to make a living with minimum interference. Once the police start to interfere with them bandits then they would wish they were in another country, but until then...

Well you know we could relate, all us girls who on our own. As you say, it's getting harder and harder to love this place and my family "outside" want to know what I'm still doing here. Not to call down anything but, the only time something will happen is when some big sawati child or relative get lick up. Well except if you are John Rahael when his nephew get killed. All I can say is, this is REAL SHIT.
