TSTT ... dis loyal chupidee ... an' dey staff dat real angry!!!

My internet was restored yesterday ...... and while I am now super duper ..... I am also a tad bit pissed!

...... cuz de only reason it came back ....... is because I went and hunt it down ..... and by that I mean ...... I had tuh make a few calls ..... and literally run down de whole scene!

At about 4:00 pm ....... on Monday, July 6th ..... my internet vanished (AGAIN!) ...... so I called 82-4TSTT ..... and was pleasantly surprised to hear a Trini answer the phone  ..... after biggin him up (jus fuh being Trini and not an Indian from India) ....... I relayed my story ..... and then ....... the unthinkable happened ..... again ..... it was yet another problem that could not be resolved by de Help Desk ...... a Technician would have tuh come check it ...... LAWD ...... NOT AGAIN I thought!! ...... unconsciously I then exploded into an incoherent rant ..... about how dis same shit jus happen tuh meh last month ..... and how it take 7 days fuh ah Technician tuh come ...... and how ah need meh internet fuh work ...... and how ah sufferin from loss of business ..... and how ah does always pay meh bill ...... and how ah payin fuh shit dat ah eh gettin ...... and why me ..... blah, blah, blah .... ending off with "DO YOU FEEL MY PAIN?" ..... well Mr. Trini ...... who I doh even tink was really listening tuh me ..... cuz he never interjected with any acknowledging grunts or words ...... then responded in the affirmative ...... saying "YES I FEEL YOUR PAIN" ...... and ..... as if tuh prove it ...... he went on tuh tell me that ..... when he moved into his new house ...... it took him ages tuh get a landline installed ...... so you see what it is really goin orn here ...... two things: 
  1. TSTT staff could actually afford tuh buy house and .....
  2. TSTT @#$%& EVERYBODY when it comes tuh telecommunications - it doh matter if yuh is staff or ah pleb customer!
Anyway ...... so moving right along ...... the report was made on Monday ..... and yuh know dey does give yuh de standard 3-4 days crap ...... so counting Tuesday as Day 1 ..... I resigned myself tuh de fact ..... dat jack shit wuzen gonna happen til maybe Friday (yesterday) ...... Day 4!

So right ..... Tuesday come ..... an' MJ memorial jus disturb meh karma ...... internet was de furthest ting from my mind! ..... right ...... den Wednesday reach ...... an' like ah vaps ketch meh ..... ah decide tuh call de boy who handle meh de last time (yes I took his private number) ...... leh we call him Ben ..... cuz as you read on ..... you will soon come tuh realise ...... dat brother did 'ben' ah lil bit fuh meh ..... anyway ..... so ah call up Ben ...... an' ah identify mehself ..... of course he didn't know who de arse I is ..... so after givin him a few lil clues ..... he make meh out and he start tuh troubleshoot one time ...... but ..... when we reach de part ..... where ah confirm dat ah was gettin dial-tone on de phone ...... he tell meh da'is ah whole different scene ...... and tuh call him back in one hour .....

So is still Wednesday ...... one hour later (3:00 pm) ..... ah call back Ben ..... and we go tru some more stuff on de phone ...... then he says HE would call me back ...... well SALT eh ..... he never call meh back! ..... but ..... I eh dig nuttin ...... cuz ah know dat Ben was really only givin meh ah bligh (answerin meh calls and soundin interested) ...... an' dat ah woulda still have tuh wait fuh de actual Technician tuh come ......

Right ..... so Thursday reach ..... Day 3 ..... and still no call from TSTT ...... but again ..... I eh study it ..... cuz from experience ..... I realise long time ..... dat dem is 'Day 4' kinda people ...... so ah chill ...... cuz Day 4 was now only one day away!

A A ...... Friday reach now ..... Day 4 ...... and is 8:15 am ..... an' nobody eh call me yet ..... well meh 'idiot' glands start tuh raise ..... ah pick up meh phone ...... an' ah call 82-4TSTT ....... cuz I say ....... is one of two tings dat happen ...... either dey jus eh process de report yet ..... or dey muzbe never even log de damn ting!!! ....... so ah Ms. Trini answers de phone ...... an' ah give her de whole rundown ..... she then puts me on hold .... and soon returns ...... confirming that a report WAS made on de 6th ...... and dat a Technician was despatched on de 7th ...... Grrrrrrr???? ...... ah say "but today is de 10th!!! ..... whey dis Technician comin from ...... Timbuktu???? ..... an' on top ah dat ...... is four days now I down ..... and tomorrow (today) is weekend ..... so da'is ah nex two days I go be down ....... blah, blah, blah" ..... anyway ...... when ah done rant and rave and misbehave now ...... ah ask de gyul ...... how many more days she tink it will take fuh de Technician tuh journey from TSTT tuh Diego ...... and she calmly replied (in a most monotone voice) ...... "I don't know Miss, I do not know how that Department operates" ..... which I then followed up with ..... an immediate earful of dial-tone!!

Needless tuh say ...... meh blood start tuh boil ......

So ...... realising that there was absolutely NOTHING that I could do (but continue to wait) ....... ah cool off fuh ah five minutes ...... ah gather meh thoughts ..... an' ah call Ben again ...... yes ..... de same Ben who never call meh back de day ...... cuz yuh know what ...... twas no time fuh shame or pride ...... thankfully he answered (and didn't press IGNORE) and immediately recognised my voice ...... he couldn't believe dat I eh get fix-up yet ...... so like he feel lil sorry fuh meh ...... an' he give meh ah nex number tuh call ...... cuz really an' truly he couldn't fix the problem ..... it required de Diego Technician tuh handle at de Exchange ...... anyway ...... after he give meh de number ...... and den de name ...... ah realise dat ah know de guy ..... well ..... 'know' as in he tired come by my house tuh fix de internet ...... so ah call him (let's call him Jerry) ..... and thankfully he too remembered me ..... he tell meh tuh text him de internet phone number ..... and call him back in one hour ......

Before de hour even pass ..... just 10 minutes later ...... Jerry calls me back ..... apparently ..... after checkin out de phone number dat ah give him ...... he realise dat he had my problem report tuh work on ....... since Wednesday (Day 2) ...... but didn't have de 'part' tuh fix de problem ..... and coincidentally ...... he get de 'part' and was about tuh go fix it ...... and that he'd call me ..... when he done .....

About fifteen minutes later ...... Jerry calls again ...... and voila ..... de internet come back ...... which I concluded ...... when I saw all the lights on the Blink box come ON ...... but ...... jus tuh confirm ...... ah tell Jerry dat ah goin an' turn orn meh computer and check it properly ...... well Jerry wuzen business ...... he tell meh ..... "cool - but I know it go wuk and tuh besides I DONE WUK!!!" ...... then he went into ah ...... educate de customer session ..... tuh try tuh explain shit (i.e. why shit keep happenin) ...... he tell meh dat I on some ole system ....... dat dey quietly upgrading (fuh de longest while!!!) ..... so in de process ...... customers will inevitably fall off and lose connectivity ....... and of course de explanation (aka excuses) was well seasoned wit nuff TSTT jargon too ...... tuh bamboozle my already clueless head! ....... then ...... when he done educatin meh ..... he flip de scrip ..... and start tuh talk about how TSTT workers ON STRIKE ..... and dat TSTT make $500 and sumtin million in profit ..... an how dey only declare $300 and sumtin million ..... and how de workers want tuh know where de $100 and sumtin million gorn ..... and how de CEO of TSTT give himself ah $200 thousand (or million?) bonus ...... and how de TSTT Managers give deyself ah similarly ridiculous bonus too ...... and HE DONE WUK FUH DE DAY!!! ..... and I lucky I call him when I did!!! ...... GO AN' WRITE ABOUT DAT!!!!

LOL .... de man actually remember dat I tell him ..... I does write ..... yeah ..... cuz de last time he come tuh fix meh internet ..... ah tell him dat ah goin' an write about it and lambaste dey ass

Ah see in today's papers dat some TSTT staff get suspended with full pay (aka ah mini-vacation) ..... further tuh de lil fracas earlier dis week wit dey Union ...... altho it is still unclear how many ah dem get sen home ...... cuz one papers say 100 ...... ah nex one say 75 ...... and de nex one sayin 75 too!?
 
Anyway ..... de long and short of dis story is ...... AMEN dat Ben and Jerry wuzen strikin dis week ...... and THANK YOU JESUS ..... fuh guiding meh tuh dem ....... before dey get suspend ...... an' oh gorm TSTT ..... fuh heaven's sake ...... get yuh act together nah!!!




PS: ..... buh wait ..... it now hit meh ...... is loyal chupidees like me ...... dat have TSTT makin hundreds of millions of dollars in profit???!!!

    It have ah Consumer Protection Law in T&T as ah used tuh see it geh advertise. What would happen eef people by the thousands start telling TSTT dey eh paying fuh any phone service dong time? Ah would tink de law would be on allyuh side. Not so?

      TSTT's policy is ...... pay yuh full bill ...... downtime and all ..... we will investigate de alleged downtime ...... and if yuh claim legit ....... we will reimburse you ...... so all dem times my internet was down ...... I done call fuh my rebate ahready ...... look right now ....... on meh current internet phone bill ...... which I have to pay in full ..... before July 17 (next week Friday) ...... it have ah note sayin dat $123.84 currently under query ...... so if is one ting wit dem ..... where rebates are concerned ..... I've never really had a problem getting back my money ..... where the problem exists ...... is in the inconvenience of not having the internet for so many days!

    TSTT don't seem to know how to do "Customer Service." They know all the talk about customer service but when it comes to action, 9 out of 10 times they fall on their face just like in cartoons. The first thing is that only a few people should need customer service but the opposite is true with TSTT. When customer service is needed it should be one call and not a Ben and Jerry scenario. But it doesn't matter , there are more then a handful of people at the top in TSTT who don't have a clue what the customer needs. Look, I have Flow and only had to call them once since Flow Internet was launched, and the problem repaired quickly. I also hear horror stories about Flow but I hear more about TSTT. I would say go with the lesser of the two evils.

My cell phone is a digi and my internet is flow and I'm pleased to say my service from both companies has been superb.
