Kidney needed ....
So de odda day was ah ...... 'Paternity Home Test' ad ...... den yesterday was ah ....... 'Request for Kidney' ad ....... huh? ...... yet another thing I've never seen before (in de papers) .......
Thing is ...... ah wuzen even readin de papers eh ...... ah was jus takin ah quick browse ....... when de picture ketch meh eye ...... cuz right away ...... meh dotish cap spin round ....... at de lil jungle fever vibes dat was goin orn ...... so ..... cuz de pic was so cute ..... ah say leh meh take ah lil quick read of dis obvious love story ....... only tuh discover ....... dat de love story was in trouble ..... as Mr. Man is in dire need of a Kidney ......
Needless tuh say ..... I was shocked that that is what the ad was about ..... cuz de way de text started off ..... I coulda swear dat de man was jus lookin fuh he family in Trini! ...... is only when ah reach paragraph 3 ...... dat ah realise what de real scene was ...... i.e. dat de man need a kidney urgently ...... and dat it have tuh be from somebody of his own race ...... which was shock number 2 ....... cuz Grrrrrrr???? ....... why de donor have tuh be de same race?! (any doctors out there?) ...... I woulda tink ah organ is ah organ is ah organ ...... just like blood is red!! ..... den shock number 3 ...... was de 'anyone who is physically and mentally healthy please feel free to respond' ...... cuz Grrrrrr again ...... is this someting dat people will respond to jus so?! ..... are Trinis that generous! ...... actually ..... leh meh doh even go de 'Trinis' route ..... are human beings on de whole ..... that generous/caring ...... tuh read about a stranger's plight in de newspapers ..... and jus come forward tuh offer up an organ?!
I have a friend who is a kidney transplant survivor ...... he's been living with his new kidney for many years ...... he is a Trinidadian ...... who lives in Trinidad ....... and has always lived in Trinidad ...... however ...... when de time came fuh him tuh source a kidney ...... he had tuh go quite tuh ass tuh Pakistan ...... so ...... I wish Mr. Man much luck with finding a donor in Trinidad ....... maybe a family member will surface ..... or maybe it will come from one of the many 'good boys' who get shoot down fuh no good reason ...... and hmmmmm ....... as I digress tuh 'good boys' who gettin lick-up (in the context of good organs becoming available) ...... I'm beginning to see a picture ...... of maybe some good ...... coming out of much bad!

I cyar believe how suspicious I am of people hard luck stories since dis internet tingy come about. Buh tuh show ah have ah heart, eef it have ah black Merrell Bonnett living in Australia wid family in T&T and who marrid ah woman name Devi two years ago and who really need ah kidney ah wish him luck. Buh from what I hear, race is not ah factor in kidney transplants.
I so doh believe dis story dat it eh funny.

i see the same thing too and want to know what it was...to be honest i thought it was a scam
and i didnt know u needed to be the same race... i thought it was blood match preferably by a family member...maybe he worded it incorrectly.

immediately ...... the skeptical me ..... smelt ah scam ..... but after inhalin it fuh ah few seconds ..... the gullible me ...... gobbled it up ...... cuz fuh de man tuh reach de stage ...... of puttin out an ad ...... in ah newspaper ....... with his image ...... and that of his wife ..... and his name ...... and all who he related to ........ and his email address etc ....... means he had tuh be at that desperate stage ...... where he need tuh get a kidney NOW ...... so he doin whatever it takes ...... tuh find one NOW!
I hope de man find a donor yes ..... it have 9 Bonnett in de phone book ...... maybe one ah dem is ah black, O-Positive, willing family member!

This might be a true story...or not! So many emails circulate with photos attached that it hard not to be suspicious. If it is true, all the best to him. By the way, apart from airfare and accommodation, is he also paying for the kidney? Hmmmmm.

Since race and socioeconomic factors are influencing early placement on the kidney transplant waiting list, I assume that the man is at the bottom of the list in Australia or worse, he might not even have made it on there. I can understand why he is trying to find a donor at home. Just hope people will respond. somehow I have the feeling he would be luckier if he would have offered cash. Hard to find people that will do something without a monetary reward.
Keep us updated Scene if you hear anything more about this.

I wonder if we will hear anything more ..... I mean ...... will he put out a 'thank you' ad if he is successful ..... I can't imagine what it must be like ...... to have to resort to such measures ..... to save your life ......

The ultimate sacrifice anybody could make is to give a working kidney to someone you don't know and met via a newspaper ad. I imagine anybody with two good kidneys might want to hold on to both just in case a loved one needs a replacement. I am not saying the man isn't genuine but giving away kidneys to people in Australia is never easy to do. Normally I would respond to ads like these but I am not mentally healthy.

It must be hard and the last hope. I wonder if the newspaper did any checks because that would add credibility to his plight. He could try Pakistan but he seems not to want a Pakistani kidney. Maybe its something about the organ rejection issue. The World is a tricky place and getting harder to know what is true.
