..... earlier this week ..... ah car wit ah loud speaker ...... was driving around de area advisin dat ..... it eh go have no current ...... on August 14 (da'is tomorrow) ...... from 8:00 am ...... tuh 4:00 pm ..... so one time ah tell mehself ...... okey dokey ...... ah go jus leave August 14 as meh 'tie-up' day (cuz ah doh really need current tuh do dat) ..... an' ah will handle odda tings (dat need current) by today .....
Dis morning now ...... ah had ah lil small turn tuh make (tuh Central) ...... it was actually de first time ah ever travel on de new Overpass ..... and WOW ..... ah doh mean tuh sound never-see-come-see eh ..... but de ting real nice ...... ah was feelin like ah was flyin ...... cuz all ah was seein from up dey ...... is sky ...... no wonder people was pullin over tuh 'see' and take pictures ...... cuz yuh cyah see nuttin from up dey! ...... but anyway ...... as ah was sayin ...... ah went Chaguanas ..... an' ah reach back home about 9:00 o'clock .....
A A ..... you know when I walk eeen de house ...... NO CURRENT!! ...... ah say NAH ..... T&TEC eh serious ...... is no current today AND tomorrow?! ...... so ah call out tuh meh neighbour (who was jibbin in de yard) ...... jus tuh verify dat is de 14th I had hear ..... and not de 13th ...... well she tell meh dat de current went since 8:00 o'clock ..... and dat she coulda swear she hear ...... August de 14th too ......
Well wit dah one ...... ah say two ah we cyah be cokey-ears ....... so ah pull out meh T&TEC ad ...... yep ...... yuh read rite ..... about ah month ago ...... T&TEC was runnin some ads in de papers ...... advertisin ah toll free number tuh call ..... if yuh havin any 'trouble' ..... so yuh know me ...... from de time ah had see dat in de papers ..... ah cut it out ..... an' ah file it fuh future reference ..... cuz ah know dat de 'future' woulda soon reach ...... and dat 'reference' woulda have tuh be made ......
So ah dial 800-TTEC ...... and de phone muzbe ring about twice ...... when ah man answer ...... so of course yuh know ah get ketch off guard ...... cuz I was expectin de phone tuh ring at least 20 times ..... den after dat ..... I expecting tuh get some dotish automated anserwin crap wit background music ...... tellin meh tuh ...... Press 1 if ah have current ...... or Press 2 if ah doh have none ..... or Press 3 if ah want some!!! ...... so yes ..... de man ketch meh ...... cuz even his tone was pleasant (shocking!) ...... anyway ..... after de initial shock ..... ah start tuh give de man meh story ..... tellin him dat ah callin from Diego ...... and dat ah doh have no current ..... and dat dey had advised ah NO CURRENT scene fuh tomorrow ..... not today ...... blah, blah, blah ...... in ah nutshell ..... ah ask him 'wuz de scene?' ..... well ...... he confirmed that they did in fact advise the wrong date ...... and that the advisory was really fuh today ..... AUGUST 13TH!
So all plans had tuh change ..... ah end up goin back out ...... and at 3:30 pm when I returned ...... ah had current ...... which was very surprising too ...... cuz de T&TEC Techs was still hangin from pole and pullin wire an' ting ...... so thank God fuh small mercies ...... dat it actually came back earlier than they had planned!!
T&TEC ...... ah give yuh 10 points fuh advisin us ...... 0 points fuh advisin de wrong date ..... and 7 points fuh restoring de electricity earlier!
Looks like our utility companies are really trying tho ...... cuz WASA have ah similar scene too ...... yeah ...... look de ad ...... ah nex one ah had cut out fuh future reference ...... altho ah didn't use on Saturday when ah didn't have no water nah!

They deserve some points for the effort of informing you.The wrong date is another story, but who knows who's fault that was? Glad to hear power was on b4 time though.

if again ..... since dah new meter scene ...... and dah new rates scene ..... my light bill went up by about $80 jus so .....
PS: you know de very nex day ...... i.e. de Friday (August 14) ..... current went again (not fuh long tho) ......
