I lost it yesterday ...... I did something really bad ...... and I'm very ashamed ..... and sorry ...... and at the same time ..... ah lil fulfilled

Saturday morning my internet vanished ....... hence de large amounts of SALT on de scene lately ......
Now yuh know I does normally go ballistic ...... whenever meh internet disappear ...... but ...... dis rounds ah wasn't really too perturbed ..... cuz ah know ah was gonna be out ...... fuh de entire day ...... and nite too ....... and dat de whole of Sunday ........ ah woulda be in recovery ..... so really an' truly ..... de internet woulda only start tuh matter ...... by Monday (28th) ......
Plus ..... ah tryin real hard tuh exercise more patience ..... and tuh not sweat the small stuff (altho is real money payin fuh said small stuff) ......
So anyway ...... as ah say ...... I noticed de 'no internet' scene before going out Saturday afternoon ...... but I didn't actually call it in ...... until about 9:28 dat nite ...... the call was typical-ish ...... and I say 'ish' ....... cuz after waiting 7 minutes fuh ah human tuh answer ...... when de human start tuh talk ...... lo and behold ...... it wasn't ah Indian ...... it was ah Spanish ....... yes ...... panyol workin fuh TSTT now!! ...... anyway ...... my gyul identify herself ...... and start tuh go tru de standard crap questions like ....... what is de number ...... what name it in ....... what is your name ...... what lights yuh seein on de box ...... yuh have dial tone ...... etc. etc. ...... after which she concluded ....... that she would need to issue a report ...... fuh ah Technician tuh check out de scene ......
Uhhhh ...... NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!! ..... duh ..... I coulda tell her dat ......
Because ..... yuh see ...... after years of dealin wit ah myriad of internet problems ..... I know my shit now ..... I know when yuh could forgo de dotish 20 questions ...... and just issue ah damn report fuh ah Tech!!!
So anyway ...... she generates a report ...... gives me the confirmation number ...... advises that they now work on weekends ..... and that someone should call me either Sunday or Monday ..... to arrange an appointment blah, blah, blah ......

So needless tuh say ..... meh monkey glands start tuh raise ...... cuz oh gosh man ..... is two days later ..... enuff already ..... is time tuh get back meh internet ...... so I eh even bother tuh call back TSTT ...... ah call up Mr. Tech direct .... tuh find out he scene ....... only tuh be told dat he now on his way tuh de office ...... so he eh really know what reports it have waitin fuh him ...... and dat he will call meh when he reach ......
Well ....... SALT ...... again ...... I eh get no call yet!!

Is Tuesday now ....... some time in de morning ....... and YAY ....... my phone rings ....... is Mr. Tech ...... profusely apologising fuh not calling me back ...... and promising to deal with my problem ...... which he did ..... YAY!
So nice ..... is still Tuesday ..... and de internet is back ......
Now when I say 'it back' ...... ah really mean dat it was back tuh its normal self ...... which is ...... comin an' goin every two minutes ...... yes ..... that's how my internet WORKS ...... I have to reboot the modem EVERY DAY ..... sometimes more than once fuh de day ......
...... which leads us to Wednesday ...... cuz yes ..... just when I tort de story was over ..... the saga continues .......

Right ..... so it's the day after de big 'fix' ...... I've already rebooted the modem twice fuh de morning ...... when POOF ...... at 12:48 pm ....... de STATUS light fades away ...... and the internet vanishes again .......
JAH!!!
I eh even bother tuh call TSTT ....... ah call Mr. Tech instead ...... and the convo goes like this:
Me: Mr. Tech ...... de internet gorn again!!!
Mr. Tech: AGAIN! ..... OK I'll check it out fuh yuh tomorrow ....... cuz ah on ah
lil day off today ......
Me: So should I call in another report .....
Mr. Tech: Nah ...... doh study it ...... ah will handle yuh tomorrow (i.e. if ah doh
take ah nex day off *smirk smirk*)
Me: But if I don't report it ...... TSTT will not have any record that my internet
was down today ...... and they won't give me a rebate!
Mr. Tech: *Laughing* ..... you want ah rebate fuh ONE day?!
Me: *Not Laughing at all* ...... HELL @#$%^& YES!!! ......cuz if is one ting TSTT
good at ...... is givin rebate fuh internet down time (if only they'd get as
good at keeping de damn internet up 24/7!)

So I call TSTT ..... to make the report ...... and yet another Spanish accent female answers ...... and we go over the usual rhetoric ...... fuh what seems like de umpteenth time fuh de year ...... i.e. what is de number ...... what name it in ...... what is your name ...... what lights yuh seein on de box ....... blah, blah, blah ......
Right ...... so at this point ...... I'm well on my way ...... tuh successfully passin de "TSTT call in ah problem exam" ...... wit all questions correctly answered ...... but then the convo takes an unnecessary turn:
Spanish: Ma'am you need to refresh the modem .....
Me: Eh??? ..... Why??? (cuz I'm thinking to myself ..... been there, done
that ..... and we (Me and Mr. Tech) done know that de problem eh have
nuttin tuh do with de modem!)
Spanish: You need to unplug the modem Ma'am (which as I said ..... I've already
done twice for the morning ..... and de ting still eh workin!)
Me: But I did that twice already ..... and it still isn't working ..... besides .....
the problem is not the modem ...... the problem is at the Exhcange!
Well you would not believe what de So-an-So Spanish Speakin Sista do next ...... my gyul repeat her 'instructions' in slow motion ..... a la hooked on phonics ...... like if Iz de dotish one!!!

Well HELLO ........ yuh know dat wit dah one ....... I get STINK! ...... an' ah promptly give she back ...... some ah she own medicine ........

Den before she could even answer back ........ cuz ah realise tings was gettin lil touchy ........ ah say hear what ........ I already call back de Technician ....... and he know what he need tuh do ...... so all YOU need tuh do now ....... is jus make up ah report ........ fuh him tuh go do the job ....... and fuh me tuh be able tuh get my ONE day rebate!
De gyul den start tuh give meh some nancy story ........ dat she cyah make up de report ....... and dat he (Mr. Tech) would have tuh call it in ...... tuh say dat further work is required blah, blah, blah .......
Now what de daft Spanish Sista wuzen gettin ....... in her no comprendo Ingles head ...... which I very calmly tried to explain ....... is dat ...... if I didn't call Mr. Tech ...... he would not have known that there is another problem requiring further investigation ...... cuz as far as he concern ...... he had done fix de problem since Tuesday ...... so therefore ...... he would not ...... at any time ...... be calling in a further report ...... which is why I was calling ...... to make de report ...... just like if it was ah new problem .......
Well lawdy ....... perhaps I should have translated that explantion into @#$%^& Spanish ....... cuz de gyul den reiterates ....... dat HE (Mr. Tech) will have tuh call in de report ..... and dat she cyah do it .......

I then called back Mr. Tech ...... told him what I did ..... apologised fuh cussing his colleague ..... and asked him to call in de report ......
Now I really wasn't intendin ....... tuh talk about dis latest internet dramas eh ...... cuz you and I both know ...... dat I eh makin no moves tuh Flow nowhere else ...... so I've pretty much resigned myself tuh de fact ...... dat ...... if I stay wit TSTT ...... I will continue to have periods of downtime ...... and it jus doh make sense frettin about it every time ......
But ...... what really get meh ...... is dah woman ....... cuz I jus cyah understand ...... how it is ....... dat TSTT went from ....... warm, friendly, knowledgeable Trinis ...... who used tuh do ah damn good job on dat Help Desk!! ...... tuh Indians (from India) ....... who doh know dey ass from dey jaiho ...... tuh now ....... condescending Spanish bitches!

Ahhhhhh ...... today is a brand new day ...... of a brand new month .......
Mr. Tech organise meh dis morning ....... so I'm back ....... and I'm grateful ....... but I'm sceptical ....... cuz how long will this stint last I wonder?!
In the meantime tho ....... I pray ........ that the Lord will touch TSTT ....... in a very special way ...... as a matter of fact ...... I pray that the Lord will touch ALL service providers in TnT ...... in a very specail way ...... oh and me too ...... cuz dat bout of temporary insanity dat I suffered ...... was real scary!
OMG, what a nightmare.No Inet, all that calling around and on top of it some foreign chick giving me a hard time: I would have cussed her arse out too.So T&T is outsourcing C/S as well eh. Gyul I hope your connection stays up.

lol, is like u have battered wife syndrome. This relationship that u have with TSTT is too funny, at least u have a Mr. Tech! I have Blink and I have never encountered any problems although I waiting for the day when it do happen because it will happen sooner or later, in this country you just have to setup yourself for disappointment when dealing with businesses. I don't mean you will take it but always be prepared to deal with there $hit that is eventually going to come!

You know wuz, i really can't emphasize enough that FLOW internet is a much better scene than TSTT.
After my 9 mth stint waiting for Blink (and my best friend had to wait a good yr to get hers) and i got fed up and went with FLOW I was really happy. Now me and FLOW have beef about cable eh...since CCTT days...but with the internet they come correct.
Might seem like laziness, but nothing like one of them tstt jackofalltrades bs you had to ENDURE. End the torture, get flow.

Mr. Tech discovered that my internet phone line was faulty ...... which was causing static ....... which was causing the internet tuh drop all de time ...... so he fixed the line ..... and now we hopin fuh de bess ...... maybe it IS the end of my torture

Why is TSTT hiring foreign persons to do telephone surveys? Are there not enough unemployed local youths or adults who can and will do this job? Shame on TSTT! I received a call from an overseas number to give my opinions on TSTT's service. Also, when you call late (after 10pm) you get to speak to an Indian, Nigerian, Jamaican or American Telephone operator, what's up with that, why can't TSTT give jobs to the people who have them in business?

LMAO @ monkey glands start tuh raise. I have not heard that one for a while.
Flow is no better. My internet was down for a month with Flow. Not to mention the time I had to go in the office and get on like a wharf rat because my cable was not working.
What has worked for me with TSTT is when the CSR tells me something I dont want to hear or dont agree with, I politely say thank you and call back. The next CSR will most likely be a different person and tell me something different. So I just call until I get what I want.

Well Scene, I had to wait until ah reach home tuh read this one. I know what yuh going through. While Blink ent let meh down yet (knock on keyboard) my moment of insanity was with de land line. After being without service for 3 months or so and getting de run around, I get on meh cell phone one day and cuss from captain tuh cook. Ah didn't care. When ah finish, meh husband hang he head in shame. But, guess what, I ent feel shame at all. I get it off meh chest and ah was good after that. We all have our moments

TSTT executives are too busy collecting huge US$ bonuses and pretending they understand what customers want. How many people realize a company like Digicel is more local than TSTT? TSTT's executives are mainly foreign with no allegiance to TnT, where as with Digicel, it's the opposite. But very soon the pie is going to crumble and we will see who really cares about TnT. TSTT is such a pretentious company but their Union is even worse.

Here i am in my office falling asleep on myself and i decide to peruse your blog cause i haven't had time to browse for crap for a long time. Hear nuh....i real laugh at dis one. When i tell u....ah wake up fuh sure. LOL.
Anyway, ah have to say i have both Blink broadband and wireless and both ah dem working good (knock on wood). The funny ting is that the landline not working for weeks now but the internet speeding along. Go figure...lol.
