THAT woulda definitely be IT!!!

Michael Jackson called me today .....

Yeah ..... he called me to go Movie Towne ...... and boy am I glad ..... ah take de chain up!!

Now I knew all along that I wanted tuh go check out ..... that new Michael Jackson documentary eh ...... and today was as good a day as any ...... I got there late (as usual) ..... the show was scheduled tuh start at 4:15 pm ...... and at that time ..... I was still by the Cashier waiting tuh purchase ...... de one movie ticket ....... dat ah didn't regret forking out $45 for!

There were two movie theatres assigned to
THIS IS IT ...... upon entering the 4:15 one ...... it was obvious why two movie theatres were reserved for MJs last hoorah ...... cuz altho I was kinda late ..... the lights were still on ...... and I was able to observe the crowd ...... yes ....... there was a crowd ...... which consisted mainly of 'families' i.e. adults with young children ...... there were a few empty seats too tho ...... but not fuh long ..... cuz by the time all the previews ended ...... by the time the lights dimmed ....... by the time the synopsis of the documentary started to scroll on the screen ....... the place was almost packed tuh capacity ......

THIS IS IT ..... is not a movie ...... there's no storyline ..... there's no plot ..... it is basically a series of recordings ..... of Michael Jackson's preparations (i.e. actual performance rehearsals) ..... for what was to most certainly be ...... the concert tour of the decade!!!

Sitting there ....... watchin this man at work ...... was simply awesome ...... cuz there he was ...... altho at 'rehearsals' ..... always impeccably decked off ..... in one of his typical MJ-ish wack outfits ..... yep ...... dis man was no jeans and T-shirt casual gear rehearser ...... it made me wonder what his outfits woulda be like ...... fuh de actual shows ...... what struck me too ...... was how 'normal' this otherwise perceived weirdo came across ...... he was funny ....... he was sweet ...... he was gracious ....... he was humble ...... he came across as a real cool person tuh work with ...... the man was a genius ....... a perfectionist ...... painfully meticulous ....... disgustingly talented ...... still had all his signature moves ..... the moonwalk ..... the crotch grabbing ...... de HEEE HEEE ...... he knew every last beat of every one of his songs ...... he knew that fuh a certain song ...... once the last note faded ....... that a light somewhere should come one ...... or a dancer should jump out somewhere ...... he knew every last little seemingly insignificant detail ..... of what was tuh happen ...... the stage sets were out of this world ...... the stage itself was the bomb ...... there were elevator-type thingys that dancers would shoot out from ...... everything ...... everything was lined up tuh be FANTABULOUS ...... I was truly blown away .......

During every single performance ...... I just wanted tuh jump out of my seat ...... and dance ....... and sing ...... oh and clap ...... yes ....... I had this jokey desire to clap after each song ..... and after each dance number ...... I coulda easily give a few standing ovations!

When Michael Jackson (de undisputed King of Pop) passed away in June ..... mere weeks before his highly anticipated comeback concert tour ..... the world felt cheated ..... but if is any consolation ..... he didn't leave us empty-handed ..... cuz THIS IS IT ..... WAS definitely IT ..... just seeing him ...... the real him ..... and not the perfect rehearsed him ...... was tuh me ...... far more awe inspiring!

After one hour ..... and 52 minutes ..... of pure MJ magic ...... the credits began to roll ..... and I finally clapped (along with everybody else in the movie theatre) ..... while trying to sort out my emotions ..... cuz tho I was sad all over again ..... I was at the same time happy and satisfied ..... that he left us with that piece of him!

Right ...... so that was that ......

You know ...... as we exit de EXIT ....... BAM ...... Michael Jackson start tuh jam on some loud speakers ...... yes ...... I doh know if Movie Towne was havin some event or show or sumtin ....... but right dere ...... as yuh exit ...... was a small stage ...... wit mike stands an' ting ...... and MJ music blastin like if is party ...... well yuh know yuh gyul couldn't help sheself ...... I chip down de lil swirly blue road tuh de car park yes!!!

Anyway ..... I feel I hadda go back an' see dat shit yes ....... cuz dat shit eh fuh Movie Towne ...... dat shit is tuh go an' see in GLOBE ...... under ah serious trini vibes ....... where yuh not so stifled and restricted ..... where yuh could whistle ..... where yuh could stan up and dance ...... where yuh could sing loud ....... where yuh could talk loud ..... where yuh could clap if feelin tuh clap ...... where yuh bound tuh get some nice lil unsolicited commentary ...... and where yuh eh hadda study dat somebody might cuss yuh fuh bein ah Trini!

Hey Scene, I also went to see MJ but on Friday at the 7:00pm show. I had to leave Pt. Lisas early and rush down to Movietowne, look across at the National Flag, take in some National Pride, find parking, buy tickets, get my 007 sandwich, then there was no line for the show. Talk about a shortage of loyal local MJ fans with an extra $45.

Despite the smaller than expected crowd, it was almost Globe-like in whistling, ohhhs and ahhs. This was really IT! Talk about too short and wanting more - hope that doesn't sound as bad as it does. Sorry if I sound like a MJ fan who actually paid money for CDs and DVDs but anybody who doesn't see This Is It on a big screen will be missing something unbelievably great!

Hey! Call me crazy but after seeing This is It, I am convinced that Michael Jackson was a manifestation of God in our midst. The man was a musical genius, but so humble and generous. I was so blown away to see him behind the scenes and get a glimpse of his personality. I have been a fan of MJ since I was 11years old, but This is It showed me the inner workings of the man as I have never known them before. WOW!

Scene, me eh no big theater goer but today I get offered the chance tuh see This Is It and I jump at it. Yuh spot on wid yuh analysis oui. So I doh take over yuh blog, all I go say is AWESOME. The man was a genius. That documentary take me through all the emotions I have. There has been none better, equal or even CLOSE to him for generations. In a way you could say he in that tour he was planning would have been far beyond what the world would have been able to cope with so it was like the only way to spare us that kind of ecstasy wid people heads exploding all over the world was for him to die and leave his fans in pain. Dat make sense?

I went to see it after reading your review and it was just as you described. Spectacular! The world has been cheated by the loss of this great performer. I left the cinema filled with awe just as I did when I saw Moonwalker as a kid. Only this time there was sadness that we will never get to see him do his magic again. RIP MJ.

I know I'm late to the game, but I saw this on my flight home for Carnival. Not ashamed to admit that I cried a couple times. I have been a huge MJ fan for the better part of my life. *Plug alert*- And I did a post about him on my blog.

This documentary was probably one of the best things I've seen in my entire life and I can't wait to buy the DVD with special features (like MJ singing a song with my name in it!)

The King is dead, long live the King!
