De CHOGM Village by nite ....

Monday nite ah ketch ah vaps ....... an' ah chain up ah fren ...... tuh go down on de Waterfront .......

..... and let me start off by saying ....... WOW!!! ...... de place real nice ...... ah was feelin like ah was AWAY ...... oh ...... and yeah ....... it was my first time ...... ah went tuh maco de CHOGM Village ...... which I been wantin tuh maco since April ...... when it was called de VSOA Village .......

Now altho de place decorate-up real nice an' ting (thanks tuh Brian Mc Farlane) ...... some of de booths kinda lame eh ..... like TT Post ...... and TSTT ...... but ..... fuh de most part ...... is ah real nice scene ...... it good fuh de chirren if yuh goin in de day time ..... and apparently it good fuh lovers ...... in de nite time ..... cuz if you see couples dat was linin de wall (in de back) by de sea!

Anyway ...... the CHOGM Village is supposed tuh run til December 6 ...... and I recommend ...... if only fuh de lil sea breeze and de ambience

The official CHOGM Village sign ..... it real big!

The view from the entrance ..... that's TT Post tuh de left .....

The lovely water fountain ..... dat yuh does get wet from ..... if yuh standin too close .....

This pic is really of nothing ...... I just liked the red light in the background (on de Hyatt) ..... which btw doh change colour anymore ...... why?

Those lights ...... and the booths ..... beautiful!

One of the many statues scattered all over de place ...... have no idea what it is ......

Didn't get the name of this group ...... but they entertained wit some real sweet pan .....

This is the FEMALE side of the Earth Scents booth ......where you can get scented soaps and candles and all that wonderful stuff .......

Oh .... and this is the MALE side of the Earth Scents booth ..... where we discovered a RUM scented soap?!

This is Kevin Steeple's booth ...... and those are dolls ....... yeah ..... he designs dresses for dolls?? (I think) ....... the doll in the white dress (on the left) is Michelle Obama ...... and the doll in the white costume (on the right) ...... is Wendy Fitzwilliam ......

And talkin about Wendy Fitzwilliam ...... her new book (Letters to Ailan) is available at the Nigel R. Khan Bookseller booth ...... ah doh know why ah didn't pick up dat Cote Ci Cote La one time!

This is from B's Ice Cream ..... check out some ah dem flavours ......Guinness (ugh!) ...... Ginger Coconut (ugh!) ....... Pumpkin (eh?) ...... Beet Root (beet root?) ...... I had the banana ...... while I checked out the Specialty Treats section ...... where some of de items are plural ...... and some of dem are singular ..... de ice cream was actually OK tho .....

This is from J & J Indian Cuisine ..... ah kyna memorable booth fuh me ...... cuz right after seeking permission tuh take de pic ..... and subsequently snapping two ..... a woman who was seated at the right side of the booth ..... very loudly enquired of her colleague ....... WHY SHE TAKIN DEM PIT-YEARS??

Some interesting stuff from Ken's Copper ......

More stuff from Ken's Copper ......

This is The Soap Kitchen ..... and yes ...... those are soaps ...... NOT cakes .......

Oh gorm ..... yuh know it mus have ah TRINI booth ..... and look at NATIONAL PRIDE nah (aka National Flag) ..... I think the name of this place is Maupule .......

This is Akilah's Jewelry ..... was loving this stuff ..... earthy creations made with beads and all kinds of seeds

That's what Virgin Artware looks like ...... yep ...... that's the name of the place ......

This is Chic Shak ..... they have some really cool stuff ...... if ah had money .... ah coulda easily buy someting

More Chic Shak stuff .......

..... and no lime is complete ...... without downing a cold brew ...... so when yuh done walk all over de place ...... there's a bar round de corner ...... right by de new-ish Breakfast Shed (which I've never been to either) ...... and yeah ..... that's the entire bar ...... a window!

i am very concerned about the company called earthscents, i purchased soap from them at the village and i also purchased soap from the soap kitchen at the same village. I must admit that earthscents soap made my skin breakout so much, it is very harsh and drying to the skin. have you locals even checked them out to ensure their soaps are safe for use? apparently not! this i find very disturbing!

when i purchase something and it is good i say so but in this case i must say thumbs down earthscents! stop make things that injure people's skin.

after my episode with this i was very cautious not to use anymore handmade soap i purchased in trinidad but after visiting my dermatologist and she explained i should use a natural soap, i remembered that was one of the soap kitchen's selling point to me that her soaps are natural i visited the website and decided to try out one bar. I am on my 3rd bar now and i just love their soaps. i just decided to share my story with you guys cause my skin irritation was very severe and i was damn disappointed in the organizers for allowing such a company to sell their products to un-suspecting foreigners.

i purchased a piece of copper craft from ken's copper t is beautiful and i love wearing it. i also enjoyed chick shak booth, a real beauty.
