Have you seen de new fines fuh motor vehicle and road traffic offences ...... well ..... if yuh ain't ...... is because yuh eh check yuh email fuh de past few days ........ cuz dat shit seems tuh be de latest email forward makin de rounds ......
Now I didn't even know it have all dem ting yuh could 'offence' ...... as a matter of fact ..... I didn't even know dat new penalties took effect last week ...... so when Trinisamba email meh de whole long-ass list earlier dis week ...... ah say leh meh take ah lil read ..... an' educate mehself lil bit ..... cuz Trini Pohlice real ignorant ...... and knowledge is power!
So ah start tuh go down de exhaustive list ..... when ah reach No. 11 ..... and jus had tuh steups ..... cuz Grrrrr ..... it have real cars on de road wit dat ..... den ah reach No. 17 ..... and No. 18 ..... and No. 21 ..... and No. 22 ...... an' ah stop! ...... ah stop ...... an' ah get up ...... an' ah went an' get ah pack ah steups mint ..... cuz at dat point ..... I realise is 87 of dem offence I hadda go tru ...... and only about 8 was makin sense so far ..... cuz tell me ...... what de heck is No. 77 ..... DANGEROUS DRIVING (which by the way have de highest penalty) ...... that is so broad ...... and vague ...... and dotish ..... and subjective ....... and not tuh mention ...... how 99% of Trinis drive!!! ..... what exactly is ah DANGEROUS DRIVE?! ...... isn't it an amalgamation of many of the other offences listed?? ...... then No. 73 - Breach Traffic Light ..... how de Pohlice propose tuh enforce dis one?! ...... and better fete ...... look at No. 71 - Fail to Comply ...... WHAT??? ..... fail to comply with what ...... all de laws???? ...... then No. 80 ...... Grrrrrr ....... people does do dat?!
STEUPS ...... dat ting was jus givin me ah headache yes ...... an' yuh know misery love company ..... so look ...... geh headache too ..... and at least get prepared ...... fuh when dem Pohlice run up on yuh ...... tuh ack ah fool!!!

#17 Well how will I get to work when I pass through a school zone or this afternoon, past a road crew fixing the road and there is no police officer directing traffic?

oh and a bit off topic I have taken to using my kids now to make sure I don't get pulled over on traffic checks. On approach of surly officer I loudly proclaim "oh look kids a policeman Wave to the nice policeman guys". Me grinning and pointing - kids waving. "HI mr policeman" says the four year old. Roll window down so officer can see cute 18mth old waving at him with a cherubic grin. This evening I swear one officer almost smiled back!

This is just the law keeping up with some people's salary increases and/or kick-back levels received.
Looking at the fines, I think on a good day I might be paying a few thousand dollars each way to work. I might as well start taking maxi now.

Additionally, the definitions of various terms would be provided for in the parent Acts that Act No. 5 of 2010 the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 2010 is seeking to amend. While I applaud the initiative of these individual or institution that compiled this information, it does not give justice to the meaning or rationale behind many of the amendments.
