Buh wha de FLOW?!

De cable gorn on one of meh TVs!!!

The problem started about a month ago ..... when I stopped getting the TV guide on de TV ..... i.e. every time I pressed GUIDE on de remote ..... a white box would appear on de TV ...... wit some dotish message about the settings not being there!

But ..... I eh take it on ..... because ah was still gettin tuh watch de TV ..... is jus dat ah couldn't check tuh see what it is ah was watchin!

After a few days of dat however ..... ah get fed-up an' ah call FLOW ...... which turned out tuh be an exercise in futility ..... cuz after about 15 minutes of troubleshooting de problem ...... which involved pressin dis ..... and pressin dat ..... holdin dis while pressin dat ..... turnin off dis ..... and turnin off dat ..... here what de gyul go tell me ..... she say de problem is de REMOTES! ..... yep ..... not just dat one remote fuh dat one TV eh ...... but de two remotes fuh de two TVs! ..... she say dat ah should change dem ..... cuz in any event ...... is new remotes FLOW have now ..... an' ah go have tuh change dem anyway!

Now ..... being a normally clueless customer ..... I an' all coulda use ah lil common sense and know ...... dat is NOT de remotes was de problem ..... and dat it was probably de BOX!!!

..... and Oh ..... before ah forget ..... while talkin tuh her ..... she interrupted me to advise dat de call have only 1 more mintue ..... so I say Grrrrrrrrr???? ...... wha yuh mean ..... allyuh does time allyuh calls ...... den she say NO ...... we closing in 1 minute ..... well I jus had tuh laugh  ...... then ..... at de risk of 'wasting' 20 seconds of my 1 more minute ..... ah ask her what dat mean exactly ..... if it is dat she go jus cut off de call after de minute up ..... without even comin tuh ah conclusion regardin my problem ..... and she very politely answered ..... NO MISS SCENE THAT WOULD BE RUDE OF ME ..... to which I silently laughed again ...... cuz HELLO ..... as far as I concern ...... de advice about de remaining minute ..... WAS Rude!!! ..... cuz at dat point ..... my call was already in progress (hmmm maybe progress is de wrong word!) ...... I really didn't give a flying fig if dey was ready tuh CLOSE!!!

Anyway ..... so moving right along ..... as ah say ...... I never take orn de gyul wit she 'bring back de remotes' remedy ...... cuz you know how hard it is tuh reach FLOW!? ..... FLOW on Independence Square ..... da'is stress ...... so I continued watching my NO GUIDE TV ...... den ..... all of ah sudden ..... one of my favourite channels ....... E! ...... start scramblin ...... which at first I didn't connect tuh de problem at hand ..... I jus tort it was FLOW effin-up ...... den ..... next ting yuh know ..... days later ..... I turn orn de TV and not only did I not get notting ...... I got SALT!

Well ..... dat was de final straw ...... so on Monday ..... I called FLOW again ..... and it was like deja vu ..... pressin dis ..... and pressin dat ..... den when de gyul realise that that wasn't working ...... she ask meh if de TV on channel 3 ..... so I said YES ..... den hear what she go tell me tuh do ...... MISS SCENE - ON DE TV REMOTE - PLEASE PRESS 3 ..... so in ah huff an' ah puff ..... I reiterated dat de TV IS on 3 ..... den she ask meh fuh de Serial Number on de box ..... den she ask meh if it plug eeeeeeen ...... Grrrrrrrr???? ..... anyway ..... after more wasted minutes ...... that we'd both never get back in life ..... it was clear dat de problem could not be solved over de phone ..... so my gyul tell meh dat she schedulin ah Technician tuh visit on Wednesday ...... between de hours of 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm ..... so cool ..... my cable was on its way tuh wellness again!

A  A ...... Wednesday reach now ...... May 12 ..... 10:05 am ..... ring ring ..... 1-868-223-3569 callin ..... so .... knowin dat FLOW numbers does start wit de number '2' ..... ah answer de phone pronto in anticipation ...... cuz I say dey muzbe callin fuh directions or sumtin ..... well .... NO EH! ..... hear what Mr. Man (yeah it was ah HE dis time) go open de convo wit ..... ARE YOU STILL HAVING A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CABLE? ..... to which I emphatically replied ..... YES (duh!) ..... den he go say .... oh ..... well de Technician had a family emergency blah, blah, blah ...... so ..... yuh know what dat meant ..... yes ..... more SALT from FLOW ..... but ..... I eh dig nuttin ...... ah take ah deep deep breath ..... an ah say ah lil prayer fuh de Tech an' he family!

Right ..... de next available date now ..... was Friday (today) ..... May 14 ...... so Mr. Man book meh ..... but no timeframe was agreed ..... cuz ah tell him dat ah woulda be home fuh de whole day ..... so he say cool ..... de Tech go call before he come anyway!

Right ..... 11:15 dis morning now ..... 1-868-223-3569 callin ..... so ah tell mehself ..... good ..... FLOW comin ..... well ..... again ..... NO EH! ..... Mr. Man starts off wit his standard intro question ......  ARE YOU STILL HAVING A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CABLE? ..... EH??? ...... WTF!!!?? ...... did he tink it would fix itself overnight!!! ..... ahhhhhhh ...... so again .... I forcefully answered ..... YES (Flow employee operating in robot mode) ..... then ..... he adivses that my problem ..... i.e. de same problem dat he had tuh check first .... tuh make sure dat ah still havin ..... requires POLE work ..... and that the Technician will not be able to conduct such work today ..... cuz RAIN FALLIN!

Lawd!!! ..... Welcome to Trinidad and Tobago ....... land of steelpan and calypso ..... and just two seasons .....where all work stops ..... in de RAINY one!!!!!!!!

Mind you .... I doh know where Mr. Man was callin from eh ..... I doh know if was from dey office in town ..... cuz at de time he was proclaiming dat it was raining ...... it didn't have no rain in DIEGO!!!

Long and short of this story is ..... my new date is now Monday,  May 17, 2010 ..... and who knows what will happen wit dat appointment ..... maybe they will call tuh say dat de Technician decide tuh go up fuh elections so he cyah come again ..... who knows .... right now ..... I jus waitin wit bated breath ..... tuh see how this situation will FLOW ..... cuz I doh know if FLOW realise ..... but dey real takin my time fuh granted ..... cuz supposin I had take time off from work dat first day ..... and den wha bout de down time ..... are dey gonna give me a rebate?! ..... actually I did ask dat ...... and de guy said YES ..... but I will have tuh call fuh it when de problem solve ..... steups!

Den de next ting ...... all de while ..... while my FLOW not really FLOWin ..... TSTT only callin (dey muzbe call about 6 times ahready) ..... tuh find out if ah want dey Cable TV! ..... an' ah keep tellin dem NO .... scratch meh name off yuh list - don't call again!

But hmmmmm ...... now ah studyin .....

..... anyway ..... da'is enuff rambling ..... I gorn!


PS: .... de rain eventually reach DIEGO! ..... but it not fallin now ..... couldn't de Tech just come now and maybe jus wipe off de Pole tuh work on it?!

    I catching up on my reading but this is really funny because i called tstt and wasa this week and this reminded me of both of them. WASA 800-LEAK don't ever answer their phone (or maybe i was unlucky because they eventually came and fix the leak on my street) and the tstt ppl answer in the most robotic way. Every answer I got was 'well presently..' wats up with that??

I understand your issues with missing the E channel cause I in Canada all now and my provider just take away the E channel recently and I went crazy...calling them up to see what the hell was going on..They tell me they doh have that channel anymore well talk about withdrawals.. is no joke nah..lol

    @ Scene Let me know how TSTT works out cause Indirect TV offers the same level of poor service for you to get more Spanish programming.

    yes ..... I am very embarrassed to say what the problem was! ..... but I'm gonna reveal it anyway ..... if only tuh help some other clueless person like me .....

    OK ..... *drumroll*

    De cable fuh de cable was loose ..... yep ..... that's it ..... there's a part where two pieces of the cable join ..... and that was loose!

    However ..... if even I had discovered that myself ..... apparently I would have still needed to call FLOW for them to re-activate or reset the box ......

    And I also got an added bonus from Emerson's visit ..... he set the cable remote tuh turn off de TV too ...... YAY!
