If you been macoin de scene from inception (Feb 2008) ..... you would have read somewhere ..... that I absolutely hate cell phones!!!
So when ..... fuh de past year or so ..... my dad kept offering me an iPhone ..... I kept declining .....
Until ..... June dis year ..... when he was here in Trini ..... and coincindentally my ole faithful Razr wacked out!!
Suddenly the offer became very inviting ...... and I unhesitatingly accepted ..... cuz truth be told ..... ah never buy ah cell phone in meh life!! ..... yep ..... since 1999 I operating wit hand-me-downs!

Now I am one of those ...... 'can't teach an old bitch new tricks' kinda gals ..... I grow up on a camera wit film fuh taking pictures ..... a phone dat plug eeeen tuh de wall fuh making calls ..... a computer wit ah CPU an' ah Monitor on ah desk fuh accessing de internet ...... ah walkman fuh listening tuh music on de go ..... and de Arcade in Long Circular Mall fuh playin video games ..... etc. etc. ...... so when de 21st century hit ..... and cell phones started doin all ah dat same shit ..... right in de palm of yuh hand ...... I was not de least bit interested ...... cuz all I wanted my phone tuh do ...... is what I know ah phone tuh do ...... which is ...... make a call ..... and receive a call ..... I coulda never see myself surfin de net on no small-ass phone wit ah setta small-ass buttons ..... or .... playin games on it ...... or even takin pics ...... cuz tuh me ..... ah phone camera coulda never substitute fuh ah real camera ......
But ..... yuh know how dey does say ...... once yuh go black yuh cyah go back ..... well ..... HELLO ..... once I went iPhone ...... Me Too an' Razr an' ting ..... became HELL NO! ..... there was definitely no goin back ..... I started tuh behave like ah crackhead on crack ...... every minute pickin up de phone just tuh slide meh finger on it (never-see-come-see ting nah) ..... touchin dis and touchin dat ...... and even activatin a few calls ...... cuz WOW ..... talk about sensitive ..... ah had tuh actually learn de smooth glide .... and de smooth slide ...... and de sorf touch ...... yeah ..... cuz was one fascination tuh de next ..... one minute ah listening tuh music on de iPod ...... de next minute ah playin Ms. Pac-MAN ..... den de next minute ah textin ..... yes ..... me ..... who HATE tuh text ..... texting ..... cuz guess what ..... ah didn't have tuh press one button 3 times tuh get 1 character ..... den ..... after all ah dat ...... was on tuh de internet ...... lookin fuh ting wit meh fake Yankee accent ..... cuz yeah ...... de voice recognition does only recognise Yankee accents ..... den when meh troat get dry from only talkin up ah setta fake Yankee ...... ah coulda drink ah iBeer ...... and as if playin around wit de many Apps wasn't enuff ...... de EMAIL totally hook meh ..... yeah ..... talk about bess ...... I never tort I woulda see de day ..... when I woulda be checkin my email on ah phone ..... when ah tell yuh .... de ting sweet ..... it sweet too bad ..... cuz watch meh ..... I doh have tuh turn orn my laptop no more tuh see wha allyuh sayin ...... I could be sprawl off in my bed ..... any time ..... any day ..... and vibes allyuh cool cool from my phone!!!
Now mind you ..... ah never read de manual eh ...... so I eh really know de true potential yet ...... an' doh talk fuh de million and one Apps dat it have ...... I eh know what half ah dem does do ...... and de internet ..... well da'is ah nex story ...... cuz altho ah likin mehself wit de internet on de phone ..... I eh settin up none from TSTT ..... no sireeee ...... dem cyah see no more of my money!!! .... so fuh now ..... I will be operatin wit whoever password-less wireless dat ah pick up!
Ah was ah hater ...... ah admit .....
But now ..... one iPhone later ..... I wonder ...... can I ever HEART another?

That BB PIN request is really annoying... and dey want to get mad at us cuz we eh have one. STEUPS!
After Razr, I've been using iPhones since the start of 2008 and I won't use anything else. Tried a BB last summer when my iPhone fell and cracked, but sold dat too-too within 5 days.
It's like crashing yuh Benz and then going to drive a Civic.
The Apps, the aesthetics, the innovation... oh gosh, lemme stop!
Do you really get the most out of yuh iPhone in Trinidad? I heard the mobile internet is pretty crap.

Jamille .... honestly ..... I can't say I get the most out of my iPhone ..... cuz I still operatin in ME TOO mode .....
I make calls .... I ignore calls .... I send the occasional text message .... oh .... and I check email .... so I guess I really use it one step above ah ME TOO .....
All de odda fancy ting it have ..... I doh use ..... dat novelty done wear off long time ....
PS ..... and my fave thing ..... is de lil button on de side tuh SILENCE it

yes ..... the iPhone is a more touchy feely phone .... wit lots of finger sliding and soft touching!
..... an' oh gorm ..... ah forget tuh mention de ..... 'making tings bigger on de screen' finger movement ..... where yuh have tuh place yuh thumb and yuh index finger together on de point dat yuh want tuh make bigger ..... and then spread dem apart (yuh fingers dat is) ..... de first time I do dat ..... I get orn like ah real imps when I see de ting actually get bigger .....

Scene girl, I hear yuh on the tech thing. I only recently got my BB; my girlfriend had to twist my arms to get one. Before that, was ah regular phone. As for that BB PIN number thing...fadda! I hate to hear that!

I thought it was only me who never buy a cell phone in my life! Somehow I either had a hand me down or somebody feeling sorry for me and buy me a new one. I gave in and brought the BB eventually.

I hate cell phones even to this day, it's even more irritating now that blackberrys are the new "me too" and lord I'm not going to get started on that! Everyone who knows me know I don't like to answer my phone, I does tell ppl plain, I have to be in d mood to answer my phone, yet my hubby sees d need for me to get an upgrade ever so often even though I will never use most features on the phone.......Scene, my phone and internet down since the beginning of August and those Blink-ing ppl aint fix it yet! Is one excuse after another with them. Like my name finally make it to d "ppl to mess with " list.

Congrats Scene. I like simplicity. I does get real beat down for meh lil lg cookie out here and don't talk about when I had meh lil ipod....not the touch screen, the old one with the wheel. that loyal item lasted me a solid 6 years and was a 60 gb,the poor thing start to give real trouble so now I use it as a flash drive.
I had wanted an iPhone but knowing apple's tendency for a new generation every few months and then within two years a brand new thing on the market for people to salivate over and leave they pockets empty...I opted for a android media player which allows me to access pretty much the same apps as an android phone, sd card reader for more storage (a real important detail for me), wifi, a large screen cause I want to watch movies during transit, real music and most of all...no disturbances via telephone cause I don't like talking much or texting for that matter.
I spent the better part of yesterday, just like you, going through apps and seeing how much it could do...and when i done i put it down in a corner cause I get tired and overwelm. This age of information can be a lil too much yes.
