All that glitters is not gold!
Earlier dis year ..... ah fillin ah have on ah back tooth ..... chip .....
So last week Thursday ..... after nearly ah year of procrastinatin ..... ah finally reach de dentist tuh fix it .....
Now from ever since ..... me and dentists doh saddle eh ..... which is why ah take so long tuh reach in de first place ..... den too ..... ah wuzen in no pain or nuttin ..... so is not like ah was bein adversely affected ..... but ..... common sense finally prevailed ...... when ah start tuh study ..... dat by not fixin it ..... ah could possibly be causin more damage ..... so dat is when ah eventually bite de bullet ..... and went ...... and ..... tuh my surprise ..... the entire experience was actually good ..... well ..... except fuh de fact dat dey need tuh put some bloody silencers on dem drills or whatever ..... an' oh gorm ..... de spit vacuum!!!
Anyway ..... so as ah was sayin ...... EXCEPT FUH DE PRICE ..... everyting was nice!!
Right .....
So about 3 hours later now ..... de numbness finally gorn ..... an' ah could finally feel meh lip again ..... so having not eaten fuh de day ..... and hungry no ass ..... yuh gyul call down some chinee food ....
WRONG MOVE!!!!
One bite into de spring roll ..... and I tort I was goin tuh dead ..... when ah tell yuh pain!!!!
So de next day now (Friday) ..... bright and early ..... ah call de dentist tuh tell him what happen ..... and of course ..... I eh get tuh talk tuh him ..... so tru he Receptionist .... I was instructed to ..... "GIVE DE FILLIN TIME TUH SETTLE" over de weekend .... and if ah still feelin pain by Monday .... call dem back!
So me now ..... bein de hypochondriac dat I am ..... an' still gettin de pain today .... but only when ah eatin ..... I decide tuh go on de internet .....
WRONG MOVE!!!!
Cuz I discovered something I suspected all along ..... which is .....
- That maybe the dentist didn't do it properly .....
And .... I also found my EXACT PROBLEM ..... which is .....
- I DID NOT have a problem with the tooth ..... I just needed the filling closed-up .....
- Got the filling closed-up (i.e. redone) ..... in WHITE (apparently da'is de hot new colour in fillings) .....
- And NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM ..... cuz now the tooth actually hurts when I try tuh bite down ..... yeah ..... ah cyah use it tuh yam down at all ..... an' is not like it sensitive tuh hot or cold or anyting like dat yuh know ...... ah jus cyah chew on it!!
So is like ah now need tuh go tuh de denitst!!!
I also found out ..... dat when it comes tuh de new WHITE COMPOSITE FILLINGS ..... dem general dentists an' dem hadda go back tuh school tuh learn how tuh do it ..... yep ..... cuz apparently is ah kinda cosmetic dentistry scene dat dey doh teach jess so ..... an' like it real tricky tuh do too ..... especially on back teeth (which is where I did it) ...... basically ..... de long and short is ..... if yuh experiencin pain after yuh do it ..... is most likely dat de dentist didn't do it properly ..... full stop!!!
So peeps ..... FYI ...... beware ..... and be aware .....
Cuz all that glitters is not gold ...... and all dat WHITE eh gold eeeeder ..... as a matter of fact ..... after all de shit I read on de net ..... I feel dat when it come tuh teet ..... and fillin colour ..... it look like ..... SILVER is de winner!
I in ah real quandary now doh ..... cuz I eh know if tuh go back tuh de same dentist ..... or if tuh try ah new one!!!
But ah hadda do sumtin ..... cuz de pain is @#$%& annoying!
Middle aged, no dental work needed (^_^)altho I do get a free clean every six months.
Buh ah feel fuh you ...
I prefer the white filling in a gal tho... I go feel real dread to kiss ah gyul with she mouth shining like ah unpainted spaceship.
Personal opinion (developed from watching Tv and seeing people teeth shining when dey yawn or laugh wid dey mouth open), is that the silver or dark ones look more like cavities than a healthy repair. And I eh kissing no oman with rotten teeth in she mouth...

I do agree that the silver looks gross ..... but right now ..... functionality outweighing aesthetics yes!!!
..... and doh get meh wrong eh ..... aesthetics is super important too ...... especially fuh women .....
De odda day I strike up a convo wit a woman in de Bank ..... and whoa ...... when de woman open she mout ..... ah setta tie-dye front teet accost meh ...... needless tuh say ..... I was a lil taken aback ..... and ah lil grossed out too ..... cuz I doh understand how yuh could dress up nice ..... have highlights in yuh hair ..... an' nuff makeup on yuh face ...... depositing money in de Bank ...... AND have tie-dye front teet!!!!

Well wha ah go tell yuh gyul? My dentist is de bess!!! He does keep real up-tuh-date and he is de gentlest human being dat ah know......besides meh husban of course. Buh hear dis.......he did ah white fillin on a back teet years ago an ah nevah had a problem. So if yuh interested gih meh ah call.........ah know how yuh harden an yuh mite want to go back tuh de same not-so-up-tuh-date dentist.........cause yuh doh accept change too well and yuh love tuh torture yuhself.......so if ah ain't hear from yuh ah will understand.

I glad u have this seeing i have 2 (yes! two!) root canals to do plus 4 wisdom teeth extractions. I'm not a happy camper because I avoided the dentist the last time and then she scared me into coming back and then she basically bouf me for not seeing her regularly

First I cah believe that trinidad still using that silver filling..cause in Canada when I went to the dentist he was shocked to see that in my mouth saying they doh use that anymore...but $3000 for a root canal cheap compare to here yes...I feel I would come Trini and do my dental work.

$3000 is CHEAP?! ...... lawd .... clearly I out of it!!! ..... cuz de lass time I had major dental work done was in 1994 (root canal) .....
After dat ..... me eh see ah dentist til de year 2007 ...... fuh ah check-up ($500) .....
Den de next visit was in October 2010 ...... tuh check shit again ($500) ..... which is when de secret chip get make out .....
Den de next visit was last week ...... which is when de chip get 'fix'?! ($475) .....
And if yuh payin attention ...... yuh would realise dat one visit was just tuh detect shit ..... and den ah had tuh go back again tuh actually fix it ...... which I totally didn't understand ..... cuz I was like ..... why de heck he doh jus fix it one time?????
Call ME cheap yes..... cuz right now I realisin dat I cyah afford teet!!!

...an that is why I am very careful in this country, you need to ask lots of questions and if possible get a reference, and a number. I am looking for a good dentist for cleaning only, but I am very afraid, so I scoping de scene.

no way I would go back to the same person. With me and medical matters you get one shot. You get it right or I'm moving on. Is not teeth lottery you playing with my mouth. What kind of hit or miss dentist is that?

This is so funny cuz the same thing happening to me. i got the white filling about 3 mths ago and I'm feeling pain. But I should have known something was wrong when the dentist told me not to ever chew on that side again...so i asked her " u mean never?', she said yes. Now everytime I call, they never have an opening and they not taking any appointments for december...so i'll eat my pastelles on one side....lol

Oh my gosh ..... ah doh even know where tuh start ..... cuz that is exactly what I have tuh do too ..... i.e. chew on one side ...... and dat shit is tiring .....
But your dentist soundin like ah bigger quack dan mine ...... cuz at least mine tell meh tuh 'MONITOR' for another week .... an' if ah still gettin de pain ..... call him ...... but wait ...... I still flabbergasted yuh know ..... cuz I just cannot believe that your dentist told you not tuh chew on de side wit de filin ..... that is crazy!!!!
