I so not in Christmas mode ..... dat is only dis week I realise dat Christmas is next week!

Other than yammin down nuff pastelle between Tuesday nite (which is when ah had get meh order) and today ..... I eh really do nuttin Christmasy yet .....

But ..... I been on real scenes .....

Last week Tuesday (Dec 7 ) ah went Coco Lounge tuh see de band Zandolee ..... and whoa ..... what a different experience dat was ..... I never hear or see nuttin like dat before ..... from de storytellin ..... tuh de costumin ..... tuh de actual music itself ..... I was blown away!

Apparently de band was formed about 20 years ago ..... and dat nite ..... all of the original members reunited fuh de performance .... wit new drummer Sean Gabriel playing most of the set ..... and Rene Coyat (de original drummer) doin ah lil ting in de end ..... de other members present was Nigel Rojas (LOVE!) ..... Ian Joseph ...... Marcus Rojas ..... and Peter Louis ..... oh and some dude played the Pan ..... and another dude was palyin ah trombone?

Den Wednesday nite (Dec 8) ..... ah went La Casa de Ibiza tuh see Mark Dopson ...... and whoa ..... what a different experience dat was too ..... yeah ..... as in different weird ..... cuz de ting come off like if it was ah rehearsal ..... quite frankly ..... I was gettin lil antsy at de performance ...... but ...... nevertheless ..... meh eyes and ears was still feelin him ..... cuz HELLO ..... other than being a pretty good singer ..... and guitarist ..... de man real easy on de eyes ..... but oh gorm ...... as ah say ..... de production coulda been ah lil tighter .....




Den Sunday (Dec 12) ah went MovieTowne tuh see lil sweetie sing with her school choir ..... too cute!

(Da'is de only Christmas ting ah do so far!)




Den after Movie Towne ...... ah went tuh some skateboardin show or sumtin ...... in de Woodbrook Youth Facility?! ...... now at first ah was lil iffy eh ...... cuz Grrrrrr ...... skateboarding? ..... I didn't even know that dat does go orn in Trini ...... but ...... when we reach eeeeeen de place now ...... tuh my surprise ...... Orange Sky jammin down de place ..... de session was real nice ..... Orange Sky was da bomb ..... but dey had tuh wrap it up ah lil premature ...... cuz ah crazy mad-as-hell granny end up stormin de place and lambastin dem fuh de noise!

Den after de skateboardin scene ..... ah went La Casa de Ibiza fuh ah House of Wadada production called MINDScape ..... de whole scene was really ah art exhibition and ah fashion show ..... with some choice artistes passin tru ..... de stars of de nite tho ..... was Artist Gicelle Ann Magloire ...... Artist Dominic Gomes ..... Designer Lori-Antoinette Williams ..... and Designers Asha and Ayana Diaz (twin sisters) .....




..... de entertainment started off wit an acoustic session from two of de members of de band Gyazette (Nickolai Salcedo and Jon Otway) .....




Art by Dominic Gomes ..... yeah ..... ah know yuh cyah make out shit ..... but there's a kinda better view in some of de fashion pics below ..... he had some really varied and interesting stuff ..... in acrylic and ink ..... and de price range was from about $900 to $2100 (and negotiable) .....




Art by Gicelle Ann Magloire ..... which tuh me looked more abstract ..... but I eh no art critic eh ..... so ah doh know if abstract is de word .... her stuff was also acrylic and ink .... with prices rangin from $400 - $3500 (also negotiable) ......

Did I mention that she's Ataklan's sister?




After Gyazette ..... we were thrilled with designs by Lori-Antoinette Williams ..... hmmmm ...... when ah tell yuh sexy!!

Buzz Rock was up next wit some cool reggae vibes ..... but wait ..... talkin bout Buzz Rock ..... did I ever mention dat I also went tuh ah Buzz Rock show .... like about two or three weeks ago .... and nearly get whiplash!? ..... cuz JAH ..... de amount ah nice rastaman I see in dat dance ..... JAH!




Then came designs by Asha and Ayana Diaz ..... LOVED their stuff which was more rootsy ..... and more my kinda vibe .....










I absolutely loved this skirt ..... which was painted by one of the featured Artists, Dominic Gomes .....

Oh ..... an' as ah on de topic of de fahion show ..... how could I forget tuh mention de bess part of de nite (fuh me!) .....

Before de fashion show had start ..... ah bounce up de models and de designers ..... in de ladies room ..... gettin ready ..... and as I walk eeeeen ..... all ah dem start tuh rave on meh earrings ..... which was one of my designs of course .... so ..... yuh know me ..... ah smile sweetly ..... and tell dem tanks ..... and den ah mumble dat is I who make dem blah, blah, blah .....

So one of de models now ..... as she hear dat is me who make it .... she order one pronto ..... but before de nite was out ..... she decide like she also want it pronto ..... cuz girlfren come up tuh meh ..... quiet quiet .... an' ask meh if she could buy de one in meh ears ..... so I say no scene ..... look it ..... take it .....

So poof ..... one side of my earrings was gorn .....

Me now .... gettin kicks off of de whole scene ..... I gorn back by my crew and giving dem de joke ..... only tuh be asked by a chick in said crew ...... about de next side .....

So all ah dat was Sunday nite (Dec 12) ......

Den Tuesday nite (Dec 14) ..... ah went Spalkers fuh One Mic ..... which was actually a fundraiser ..... twas my first time at an open mic session ..... and I have tuh say ..... I thoroughly enjoyed it .....

Yuh know what does real baffle me tho .....

De amount ah talent dat it have bubblin in dis place ...... dat nobody doh know about!!..... dat does real baffle me!

Up tuh about three years ago ..... I was one of those ..... I was one of those clueless ones ..... who knew only what was played on de radio ..... I never knew of de underground scene in Trini ..... oh ..... an' as ah mention underground ..... I totally introduced myself tuh ah Underground Trini Artiste ...... yep ...... he calls himself Da Face ..... and dat is exactly what I got when I frontishly introduced myself ..... cuz as ah say ..... he eh know me ..... and I didn't know he ..... we just know of eah other's blogs .....

Now other than Da Face ..... real people pass tru de ting eh ..... but yuh know me ..... I doh know nobody ..... an' is not like I is any reporter ..... so I eh get everybody name ..... Skeeto was de MC ..... and de show started off wit a yout name Kwesi ..... he did a monologue ..... den John Blood was up next wit ah guitar and real lyrics ..... John Blood is ah dude from Trini who livin in London ..... then came Gary Acosta wit some spoken word first .... and then a song wit some other dude ..... after dem was three singing/rappin dudes (ah tink) ..... den next was Ken 'Professor' Philmore ..... who might be de only man who could make me move tuh pan music ..... he was boss!! ..... after him was a comedian ..... didn't get his name either ..... but he had me rollin ..... then came de Gyazette duo, Nickolai and Jon ..... followed by Muhammad Muwakil and Co. ..... and ending with Collis Duranty ....

The show was called The Rebuilding Project ..... and I hope it went well in term of dollars ..... cuz de proceeds was tuh go towards de rebuilding of someone's house which was destroyed by fire ....

Oh ..... and my nite ended wit some vintage Shadow at Coco Lounge.

Today ...... two days later ...... I'm exhaused ..... and still in recovery .....

But .... sale's on again this Saturday ..... so off tuh get into a creative zone ..... and do some 'work' .....
