There are some additional figures that the census need to collect to make this data more meaningful:
1. How many men and women are gay.
2. How many men and women are being horned? I think a visiting relationship is probably "friends with benefits."
3. How many men and women are happy with a partner from another marriage.

and the divorce one, people split up all the time way before 20 years but for legally married couples, i think that when they have mid-life crises and the kids have gone to college.

Well yes, who knew.
The Census people ketch meh Sunday evening. The questions were pretty basic and it was a quick and painless procedure. When she asked me what race I was and I told her, she said that they were instructed to not assume anything. Even if the person looks like Chinese, Indian, African, etc, they stil have to ask. If is ah African, and they say they are Indian, that is what the Census people have to put. I am wondering though, how reliable the info would be if people are not being truthful. Oh well...I done answer meh questions.

I have questions, so many questions:
1. uhmmmm, so for us with multiple races in the ancestry, do we state all, or pick one? And which one if we have to pick??
2. 'Visiting relationship': that was the something people had written in on the form, or an actual option?
3. Where all those surplus men in the 30 to 50 age group that supposedly floating around eh?!

Thanks. Found that out when the Census people visited us. There are actually two(2) types of 'mixed' apparently. 'Mixed' meaning of African and Indian parentage. 'Mixed Other' meaning mixed with other ethnicities.
Quite an interesting visit that was indeed.

Go in any social gathering or fete in Trini and is rhell man. Trust me, compared to NY where I live the man to woman ratio in Trinidad runneth over. It's a desert over here: it DRY, it feels like 1 man to 50 women. When I come home for Carnival I does be in my glee.
As for the low divorce rate, I believe that. I'm shocked at how many couples I know are still together since I was a child. Out here in foreign, relationships don't last at all. Waste of time asking what about so and so, them done long time. Next! Da'is the scene out here. Trini nice yes.
P.S: I think a visiting relationship is a long distance one, as in flying out to see each other -- visits. Plenty Trinis in that, heck I was in one years ago.

Sindy my dear .... have no fear ..... as an over 30-er myself .... I've discoverd that many men prefer us over 30s ..... cuz women over 30 generally doh give ah shit ..... an' dey eh beatin around de bush either ..... by dat age dey done know who dey is ..... and what dey want!
