Last nite ah decide tuh make ah lil small turn .... but yuh know me .... my gas tank always empty ....

So before headin tuh meh destination .... ah say leh meh swing tru de gas station .... an' put ah lil $50 ..... instead of roughin it on fumes .... and riskin gas light!

Four Roads Gas Station .... being de closest one ..... was de gas station of choice .....

So ah pull up by de pump .... open up meh tank .... order de 'blasted expensive premium' gas .... an' ah jump out de car tuh go an' pay ..... cuz yeah ..... Four Roads gas station does have yuh comin' out yuh car tuh pay??!! ..... anyway ..... as ah was sayin ..... ah jump out de car .... an' ah start tuh make meh way tuh de Cashier ..... only tuh get jumbie by dat on de door!!!!





Well ah get confuse one time ..... cuz all kyna ting start tuh run tru meh head ..... do I have a bag? ..... is de counter safe - does it have security? ..... how much gas ah want again? ...... how could I get ah picture of dat shit bwoy? .... do I pretend I forgot my money in de car and go back and get meh camera? ..... do I even have my camera on me? ..... and if not do I try tuh take de pic wit meh cell phone instead? .... do I have my cell phone on me? .....

LOL .... dat was my dilemma!!

So ah reach by de Cashier now ..... an' ah give her de money fuh de gas ..... but .... all de while ..... I want tuh buss eh .....

Same time now .... meh padna (one of de empoyees who ah does small talk wit) walk out from de back office an' start tuh give meh some talk ..... so ah pull him outside ..... an' ah tell him dat dey need tuh change de sign pronto ..... cuz it wrong ..... well he jus laugh it off .... he say dat de person who put de sign dey ..... cyah spell ..... an' he doh even tink dey could read!

Well ..... wit dah one ..... ah realise dat de sign was there tuh stay ..... so one time meh resolve tuh get dat pic .... get strengthen instantly ..... but ..... being mucho shame ..... as in .... fuh de sign ..... and tuh be seen takin a pic ..... ah ask padna tuh do de dirty work fuh meh ..... yep ..... ah give him meh cell phone ..... and he calmly walk up tuh de door ..... and snap de shot ..... talk about service!!!

Now I know you eh believin dat I write ah whole post about dat sign eh .....

..... but .... in my opinion ..... it worthy .... cuz leh we analyse dat sign good ..... leh we start wit de INITIATIVE ..... de initiative dat some staff member showed .... tuh put up de sign in de first place ..... then let's look at the FRUGALNESS ..... cuz there's no denying that a handwritten sign on ah piece ah paper is probably loads cheaper than having a professionally printed sign made ...... then there's the actual MESSAGE ..... which implies dat people probably comin in de joint wit dey bag tuh tief shit ..... then there's the other MESSAGE ..... that implies dat when yuh leave yuh bag by de counter .... dat it safe dey ..... and dat nobody eh go tief nuttin out of it ..... then there's the actual WORDING ..... which kinda comes across kinda cavemanish ..... then there's de GREEN VERB ..... which is very Trini .... but soooo very wrong ..... then there's the PENMANSHIP ..... which fuh de most part is pleasing tuh de eye ..... then there's the FONT that was used ..... with caps in some places ...... common in others ('is') ....... some letters curly ..... some letters clean ..... some letters straight ..... some letters in italics ..... then there's the word LEFT starring number 7 as de letter F ..... oh ..... and then there's the COLOUR SCHEME ..... which by far ..... is my favourite ...... cuz look at dat wonderfully harmonious intermingling .... of our national colours ..... dat RED and BLACK on dat white background ..... so Trini .... such artistry!!!

Now I know is ah pack ah ass I jus talk eh ..... but I happen tuh know de owner of dat Gas Station ..... and I'm thinking HE can spell and read ..... which I am sure is what helped him along his gas station owernship path ..... and I'm also thinking that altho he probably empowered his staff ..... that he ..... just like me .... would be mortified ..... if he saw that sign!

So ..... altho homemade Trinis signs IS sometimes de bess ..... where dey concern .... fuh dem ..... I hopin fuh de bess ..... ah hopin dat dey contain de implied thievery ..... an' ah hopin dat meh next gas run ..... is sign free!
