Saturday night (May 7) when I returned from Tobago .... I headed straight fuh Bobby's in Diego .... where I found out that Allyson Hennessy had passed away ....

I had read in the newspapers some time ago that she was ill .... but somehow hearing of her death was very shocking ....

And I don't know Allyson personally .... but who doh know Allyson Hennessy .... she was everywhere .... in everything .... on de TV .... in de party .... in de carnival ..... always full of life .... so tuh hear dat she no longer had life .... at only 63 ..... was just .... shocking ....

My memory of Allyson will be her warm personality .... and always smiling face .... as the only interaction I ever had with her .... was at her restaurant on Ariapita Avenue (Veni Mange) .... where de food real bess .... and de ambience real borse ....

I'm here sitting on my porch having some coffee .... and hearing the funeral .... which sounds (and looks) more like a mini-concert actually .... wit people singing .... steelband playin (muzbe Despers) .... an' police an' cars all over de place ....

Hmmmm .... a very befitting send off for Allyson ....

De music jus stop!
