Last night .... I end up in ah small lime by ah fren in Valley ....
So we dey ..... eatin .... drinkin .... talkin shit .... when beep beep beep .... beep beep .... one ah de crew get ah text message tuh say ..... DIEGO IN AH STATE OF EMERGENCY .....
Now .... as residents of Diego (i.e. de crew dat was hangin) .... and more importantly ..... citizens of Trinidad and Tobago .... we all steupsed in unison .... and moved on ..... cuz please ..... everybody know dat Trinis always on some shit ....
A A .... dis morning when ah get up now ..... I see ah miss call from fren who we was limin by .... so ah call him back .... only tuh find out (in my state of lethargy) .... dat de Prime Minister really declare ah STATE OF EMERGENCY in sweet TnT!!!
So ah fly outside now tuh get meh newspapers .... and lo and behold .... there it was fuh real!! ...... well I couldn't believe what I was seein .... cuz I woulda never tink dat I would live tuh see another State of Emergency in my country ....
Den ..... apparently ..... initially .... said State of Emergency was tuh be limited tuh crime hot spots only ..... and ..... guess whey was starring as ah HOT SPOT ..... yep ..... Diego!!! .... well dat was rude awakening number two ..... cuz I didn't know I was livin in ah crime hot spot ....
Den ..... dey say dat de lock-down is from 9 pm to 5 am .... fuh de next 15 days .....
LAWD!!!!
Now I eh no social butterfly eh .... I really doh be anywhere in de night so .... but oh gorm .... jus de thought of not being able tuh go nowhey fuh 15 days ..... ah jus cyah wrap meh head around dat yet .....
Den .... dah whole scene about Police and Soldiers an' ting being able tuh do what dey want .... without search warrant an' ting .... Grrrrrr??? .... dat shit scary man .... cuz who gonna guard de guards?? .....
All I know .... is dat I keepin my arse quiet fuh de next three weeks .... me eh goin nowhere .... an' I eh want tuh hear about no curfew party .... cuz we all know dat next week wit dem public holidays back-tuh-back .... some idiot goin an' trow ah curfew party ..... an' it eh rocket science .... is jus styles from 1990 goin an' come again!
Anyway .... all de vex ah vex ... dat ah get lock-down .... ah really hopin dat dis shit get positive results .... cuz dis country wackin-out fuh real .... and if dis is what it gonna take tuh straighten shit out .... den so be it .... ah wishin dem Police luck ..... an' ah also appealin tuh dem mosquitoes an' dem .... tuh PLEASE follow de curfew too .... an' keep allyuh ass lock-down too!!!

Lots and lots of May babies fuh reals! Well, I wasn't in the country for the curfew of 1990, so we'll see how this one goes...and ah living in one of those 'hot spots' too!
Dat nowhere between 9pm and 5am thing...dat go be a problem. Me and some frens are masters of the 'aye leh we go take in d late show nah!'. Guess no more late show for us nah.

Read on today's Guardian that the curfew was originally scheduled to be from 6pm to 6am...can you say utter madness!

I bawling for curfew party 2 days now. Not ah invite yet.
In 1990 I was in a party in San Francique, Penal when the curfew was called. Of course, I was working SFGH, and the doctors had passes so we all limed behind closed doors in all dem restaurant, nightclubs etc... best time ah meh lil life, oui.
By the way 'Scene, ah still waiting on meh signed copy of de Guardian eh... that ah was promised in case yuh forget.

LOL .... I had a few curfew party experiences mehself .... but nah .... I good dis rounds .... I cyah party from 9:00 pm tuh 5:00 am .... I'd rather sleep ....

and tuh think i almost give 680 USD to Caribbean Airlines tuh go home this week. Curfew after 9pm go mess up all those who on vacation visiting family can we get ah refund ah CAL ridiculous prices??...smh I tell my daddy I'ma come down in 4 weeks... pending progress and dengue

this whole curfew business well jumbie meh scene! steups...ah mena ah doh lime so but I like to at least have the option! but ah hope this really does do something positive cause i ain't want all this lockdown to be for nuttin...and as far as dem mosquitoes go...like somebody need to tell dem dey on lock down cause like dem doh read papers!!!

It's been almost a month now since the SoE has been declared and curfew hours have been adjusted to a seemingly more workable 11pm to 4am.
How things treating yuh these days 'scene and everyone else in T&T?
